Life Updates +Plans

Monday, 4 November 2013

Hey,
I don't know if anyone even reads this but I'm annoyed at myself for not blogging, I just having got into the swing of it yet which is frustrating as I love reading so many people's blogs. Anyways updates with me:
I've began 2nd year of University, mental!! and been chucked straight into the deep end with work, it's not gonna be easy but I'm determined to get through it. Also I've moved into a new house, there's 13 of us living here which sounds a lot but is less than the house I lived in last year :P It's pretty cool and everyone seems to be nice. I like being in my room a lot as I like my own space.

I finally have found a Saturday Job yes yes!! well getting the money is good, the atmosphere at my work not so great. I've definitely learnt just cause someone appears nice at first does not actually necessarily reflect how they truly are.

I've finally got my hands on a new camera! which means hopefully better quality photos and more videos on my Youtube channel. I've actually posted two new videos recently which I'll post down below if anyone wants to check them out.

I have some ideas for new videos and blog posts so hopefully they'll happen soon

Fixing Things

Friday, 6 September 2013

So I haven't posted on here as I'm just having a bit of a nightmare really at the moment. I wanted to start posting YouTube videos more frequently this summer but my video camera now isn't working and my laptop rejects it.
I haven't been feeling my best lately hence the last post and things have been getting me down.
I also start my second year at university in a couple of week arghh im so not prepared.

One thing I am happy about is that it's Autumn my favourite time of the year :D and that means Halloween, Bonfire Night and Christmas too (loving life haha).

I hope to not sound sad all the time, guess I just need to sort things out. So I have a feeling my YouTube will be out of action for a while. Hopefully I will be more inspired for blog posts soon as my focus will hopefully be more on my blog for now amongst my uni work.

Weekly Wants #1

Friday, 19 July 2013

So I want to start a weekly post on things that I have been wanting to get. Whether I post this every week I don't know but I hopefully will post this frequently. I am always online looking at new products so this is what I want this week.

 1. Inhibitif Advanced Hair Free Serum 240ml - £29.99
So I recently saw something on TV about hair minimising serums which I found interesting as I didn't have a clue that they even existed. I'm always looking for anything to help hair removal as I unfortunately have naturally dark hair so it's noticeable. I would love tor try this out on my legs as I hate having to shave them constantly!!. After reading reviews, it seems to be really good as long as you use it religiously every day.

2. Essie Nail Polish- First Timer
I have never actually bought a Essie nail varnish as they are quite expensive in my opinion. However I love the colours and after seeing loads of Youtube videos saying how good they are I'd really like to try this one out. I love the colour of this one it's a lovely mint green.

3. Orange Alabama Basketball Top- PrettyLittleThing.com- £16.00
I absolutely adore this top. I've been getting into fitness more or attempting to this summer so I'm kinda digging the whole athletic trend going on. I'm currently obsessed with anything orange so this top is just perfect. It looks so comfy and light perfect for summer really. I would love to wear it at Reading Festival.

4. Olivia Blue Layered Crop Top- PrettyLittleThings.com- £16.00
I love this top and it reminds me of something I saw in River Island but cheaper. Again I love the floaty light style of it. I can imagine even wearing this in Autumn/Winter with disco pants :)

5. Day Dreamer Floral Crown- Dolly Bow Bow- £15.00
I love these floral crowns they are just so adorable. I really love this one as it's so girly and pretty very different to what I usually go for. I would love to get this to wear to Reading Festival (so excited!!). It will be the perfect way to hide the disgusting state my hair will be in aha

So yeah that's my first weekly wants post (I don't know it that names any good) but yeah. What have you guys been loving this week?? If you have any posts like this on your blog please leave a link I love looking at them. Thanks for reading this.

Recent shopping trip purchases

Thursday, 4 July 2013

So instead of doing a haul on my Youtube channel I thought I would show what I got on a recent shopping trip I went on with one of my closest friends Lizzie. It was the first time I got to have a good old catch up with her since being back from university and I have missed talking to her sooooo much!
We went to a lovely little town near where I live called St Albans. If you live in or near Hertfordshire I would recommend going there as personally I think it's beautiful. I wish I took some pictures, that's the plan for next time. I will learn haha :'). It's got your usual shops but also has cute little shops to and cobbled streets. And there is an amazing park which is just amazing to go to on a warm summers day. Anyway so I did a little bit of shopping and got mainly clothes as I am obsessed at the moment. Summer clothes this year just seem to be everything I love, particularly summer dresses. I have been shopping a lot recently and should stop as I'm not exactly made of money. Anyways stop babbling Katie...

The first shop we went to was Topshop. I adore the Topshop there and it seems like a must to buy something each time I visit it.
I bought this coral crop top as I immediately fell in love with the colour. I think coral with a tan just goes so well not that I have a tan. I also wanted a loose crop top as I'm not so keen on my upper body area so the fact it's loose makes me feel a lot more comfortable. I got it in a size 14 as that the biggest size they had and it's baggy on me so the sizing is good. I definitely need to wear something high waisted with it though as my stomach should not be seen out. Definitely wanna tone up during my summer off university.

I purchased my very first lipstick from Topshop. I chose Brighton Rock as I've seen a few Youtubers wear it and love the colour. It's a bright almost bubble gum pink colour and is really pretty. I can't wait to wear it. I tried it on and I like it I just need time to adjust to brighter colours. Trying to venture out a bit more.

Next I popped into Boots successfully resisting my recent obsession with buying nail varnishes and make up. I did however buy a new beauty product. I have wanted something for improving stretch marks for a while as unfortunately I suffer from them quite badly. It's due to losing some weight over years (please don't feel like I'm bragging about it cause I honestly don't want it to come across that way, trust me I know how hard it is!). Anyways I was looking at buying bio-oil as I've heard such great things about it, but I just cannot justify the price of it. Then Lizzie mentioned palmer's to me and I found the Palmer's massage cream for stretch marks. I've only used it a couple of times so can't give a full review on it but maybe down the line I'll post a blog or video about it :)

Woop H&M my favourite!! This shop is dangerous!! I bought this white t-shirt as I really loved the design on it. Every piece of clothing I've seen with blue and white on I just seem to really like. The A has no personal meaning to me I just thought the design was interesting. I'm going to say it stands for Awesome ;)

I bought this adorable guess you could call it bowler style hat. I love hats I just never seem to find any that suit me. Lizzie insisted it suited me and I've fallen in love with it. For £7.99 it's not bad and I would love to wear this to Reading festival. I think it's gonna just add interest to any boring outfit and hide that state known as my hair.

Sorry shocking photo quality :/ (my apologies). I bought a simple belt as I only have one black belt from New Look and its starting to get a bit ruined now. I wanted a belt with neon colours and I loved the Aztec style pattern on this. This wrapped round a cute white summer dress I think will look sweet :)

Right guys so that is everything I got. I got some pieces that are quite different to my usual taste which I like. I wanna mix things up a bit :). I will add prices when I get back home, I've been at my uni house for a few days as I've done some work experience (hopefully write a blog post about that tomorrow).
Thanks for reading :)

My Summer Ball Outift and Finishing First Year of Uni!!

Tuesday, 25 June 2013

It's been way to long since I've posted on here. I hope now I can update a bit more regularly on here. Anyways I wanted to share what I wore for an event I went to at my university. I can't believe I'm saying this but I've come to the end of my first year at uni which is just mental!! I literally feel like I've just started and the thought of me graduating in two years is terrifying.
So at the end of the year we had a summer ball to celebrate finishing the year and for the third years to celebrate graduating. I decided that I wanted to go dressy as I don't tend to go to many events so I thought I would try and go all out. I even managed to put on false eyelashes which can I just say is a skill!! It was the first time I wore them and I spent two hours trying to put on those bloody things.

1. So I decided to go for a long dress as I always feel more elegant in them (sad I know) and I hardly ever get to wear them. I chose a navy blue dress as I am loving that colour at the moment. The dress is from AX Paris and I fell in love with it immediately when coming across it on the website. It comes in a few different colours and really isn't that expensive. The beading detail and the keyhole at the front I think is really pretty and different to any dress I have bought before.

2. I went for orange as the colour for accessories as I love love love the combination of blue and orange.  Now I am not one for wearing uncomfortable shoes as I have very weak feet so I struggle with walking in heels. These have the biggest platform I have ever seen so I took a risk getting these. But I survived all night wearing them and they were very comfy. Not gonna lie I did feel like I was gonna fall over at time but I didn't. These shoes are amazing and I found them on an awesome website called Sheobou.com. Amazing shoes for pretty decent prices. I saw some on Topshop exactly like these but these were a lot cheaper at £24.99. Unfortunately they are all sold out now but I will leave the link so you can check out the website as I definitely recommend it!.

3. The final thing was a bag. Originally I saw an orange clutch bag on New Look but being the idiot I am left it to late to order it before it went out of stock. So I typed in orange clutch bag on Google and came across this beauty on Ebay. They didn't lie when they said in the description that it was neon orange, its is bright be warned!!. I love it though and it definitely caught some attention haha.

So yeah they are the items I bought and above are some pictures of me once I'd finished getting ready. It was so much fun getting dressed up and I can't wait for the two other summer balls I get to have at uni. I'm sure I will be buying new outfits for them as well :P

Thank so much for reading :)

Overcoming Fears

Monday, 21 January 2013

Howdy :) so I 've just come back from uni and felt in the mood to write as it's been quite a stressful but interesting day.
The weather here in the UK at the moment has been crazy. We've had lots of snow which I LOVE!! However the chaos it creates here is unreal. Plus I couldn't go out and play in it (my inner child) as I had a ton of work to over the weekend. Anyways today I went to uni and had to do presentations. Now the thought of presentations physically makes me feel sick. I hate talking in front of people and the idea of people just looking at me at the same time brrrrrr. However today when giving my presentation I felt strangely calm and managed to project my voice quite well. It feels amazing to think I kinda overcame a fear today. I'm not saying I felt entirely comfortable but I think I crossed a mildstone today. Positive vibes today guys :D
Anyways I'm gonna take a well earned rest tonight. Hope your all having an amazing day!

Shikari Gig :)

Tuesday, 18 December 2012

So yet another blog post about me going out, I promise I don't actually go out that much (makes me sound boring :P) but every time I wanna write down something is about an experience. Life is about experiencing things right?
Anyways I went to see Enter Shikari in concert last night and what a night I had!. Shikari have quickly become one of my favourite bands and one of their song titles Destabalise was the inspiration for the name I came up with for my blog and youtube. Last night was my 4th time seeing them live (2nd concert of theirs, seen them at 2 festival events as well). I took my best friend Charlotte to see them and we got to go into Camden which is my favourite place to go in London :).

Charlotte and I trying out the Sssnakepit beer :)
We went into Camden and just had a look round before getting a Starbucks (yeah the typcial thing that everyone does I know). I actually hardly ever go to Starbucks but I wanted to try out one of their christmas drinks. I went for a toffee nut latte. It was alright, bit strong for me as i'm not much of a coffee person. I usually have the cold drinks they offer. However I felt a tad guilty going there after reading so much about them not paying their taxes etc. (tut tut). Enter Shikari have bought out their own beer called Sssnakepit Beer which is pretty sick in my opinion so of course I had to go and try it :P. So we went to the pub that was serving it and had one each. I liked it but don't think my mate was too keen.

Picture of the bottle

We then waited in the queue for about half an hour and got in there surprisingly quickly. I stopped myself from the temptations of buying any merch although there was a grey Shikari jumper that I really wanted to buy!! We were lucky as we managed to get a spot in the second row from the front. However we stuck to one side as if you stand in the middle then you have to be prepared for a crazy and bumpy time. Trust me when I went to my last Shikari concert I stood centre front and lets just say I lost my friend and ended up in the middle of a mosh pit (not a place I wanted to be in).
The support acts were Engine Earz Experimental and Cancer Bats, polar opposites from each other but they both represent different aspects of Enter Shikari's music. Engine Earz were a dubstep act who were amazing live. I definitely want to invest in some of their songs. Cancer Bats were also really good. They play really heavy, aggressive music (lots of screaming) which I didn't mind. I saw them at Reading so I knew what to expect from them. Then of course Shikari came on and delieved an epic set. The crowd went mental as soon as the first notes to the song System were heard. It was nice actually being able to see them playing as well as before I could only really hear them. Have to admit I may have got a tad over excited as I might have a soft spot for the singer :/ I can't help it haha. Anyways they always know how to put on an amazing night and you can just tell they appreciate all of the support, plus there songs are just awesome.

I would 100% recommend seeing Enter Shikari live as there is no gig quite like theirs. I mean they have pretty colourful lights and there was even confetti, what more could you want?? ;)
