Skincare Loves for January

Tuesday, 7 February 2017

In all aspects of my life lately I have become lazy and skincare is no exception. I'm one of those people that quickly washes my face in the morning but that's it. I know its terrible right. So I thought it was about time that I tested out some new things and see how they turn out. So here are a skincare few items I loved using during January.

Biore Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips
It was actually my boyfriend that originally wanted to try these out. I love these purely because you can see the amount of crap they have taken out of your pores when you take it off. I won't lie it hurts loads peeling these off your nose, tip just get it over and done with quickly. But yeah they are a simple strip to use on your nose and I now definitely notice my pores a lot more.

Institut Esthederm Osmoclean Hydra-Replenshing Cleansing Milk
This cleansing milk is so so good. It has become my daily cleanser and by far my most used skincare item. The reason why I love this is because the texture of it is so smooth and feels really calming on my face. I got this particular product as I read its good for sensitive skin and my skin gets really red especially during the winter months. I literally love it.

Mario Badescu Almond and Honey Face Scrub

This face scrub is so satisfying to use. I tend to go for products that exfoliate because I have really dry skin particularly between my eyebrows. This scrub again is really soothing on the skin and it smells like bakewell tart which I'm not opposed to. There are quite big bits of almond so they can be really rubbed into the skin.

L'Oreal Pure Clay Glow Mask
I believe these are relatively new out but I was really intrigued by the advert I saw on the TV. I bought the brightens and exfoliates version which is a red colour. I've only used this a couple of times but so far so good. I was afraid the colour was going to stain my skin but pleased to say I didn't end orange. Again there are small bits to help exfoliate. Its good because the clay firms up on the face and washes off easily. It has made my skin feel really soft, so far so good!

If anyone has any skin care recommendations leave them in a comment, you know me I'm always on the hunt to try out new products.

Two Skincare Saviours

Sunday, 20 March 2016

My skin at the moment is suffering, like really badly. I don't know whether its the colder weather, stress, what I'm eating but it's driving me nuts. I suffer from really dry skin and it's looked really dull and lifeless lately. So to try and combat this I've been attempting to do a skincare routine. For the record I am no expert but there are two products that I've been loving lately and now use daily.

The Glow Tonic Exfoliating Toner by Pixi is something I've heard many people talk about and it's been something I've wanted to try for a while. When I was browsing Cult Beauty I just decided to get it as the reviews are so positive. And I have to say I'm agree. I put this on a cotton pad, wipe it on my face and neck and skin feels a lot fresher. Its perfect for my skin specifically as it's get rid of the dry patches and makes me feel awake. I bought the bottle back in January and I still have about half left so it last a while and you don't really need a lot.
The Vitamin E Sink In Moisture Mask from the Body Shop I bought quite a while ago but I've just started to use it properly. This mask is literally a life saver!! The instructions say to leave it on for 10 minutes and wipe it off with a tissue. But I usually put it on before bed and then wash my face in the morning. My skin always feels so soft and I love the smell of this. As odd as it sounds the fragrance reminds me of a perfume that my Nan used to wear so it has a nostalgic vibe to it.

I still have a lot to learn but thought I'd share some products that seem to be taming my horrific skin as of late. If anyone has any products they'd recommend let me know, I'm always on the hunt to try something new!

Going on a Clean & Clear Frenzy

Monday, 28 September 2015

My skin at the moment is well to put it nicely not happy at all. I've needed to up my skincare as I want a bit of life back in my face. So whilst going on the dreaded food shop with the mother I came across a load of clean and clear products. I've been using the dual action moisturiser for quite a while as my daily moisturiser for my face and I absolutely love it.
I picked up three more products and thought I would give them ago. Firstly I was running out of a face wash so I chose the deep action cream wash as it described as cleaning down to the pores for really clear skin., something which I'm wanting so bad. I really like the creamy texture of this face wash and it feels really fresh on my skin. It always tingles slightly but not in a bad way, I guess it just awakens me. So far I really like it. The deep cleansing lotion I thought would be good to use particularly just before going to bed as my skin never feels fully clear at night. I literally put this on a cotton pad and wipe all over my face. I'm trying to remember doing it every night as this all new for me but yeah I like how it feels on my skin. Also its for sensitive skin so doesn't irritate it at all. The final product I got was the advantage spot control treatment gel as I've been breaking out a lot on my chin lately. Hoping this will work some wonders on my face.

I'm obviously becoming a bit of a fan of Clean & Clear at the moment. I'm enjoying using new products, just hope my skin enjoys it too!

My Face Agree's with these two

Wednesday, 13 May 2015

I'm lazy with skin care that's a fact. I know I know I tell myself off all the time. I am unfortunately one of those people that think it's acceptable to use a face wipe even though it's not great for you. I just want quick solutions, especially at night when I know all I want to do is go to bed. However I am trying to look after my skin a bit more and have found two products I really have fallen for.

Quick Fix Facials- Exfoliating Scrub Mask

Thursday, 28 August 2014

Apologies for the lack of inventive posts lately, I don't know why but I've had a few unproductive days. I need to get my dare I say 'mojo' back haha!
I don't own many skin care products making me the ultimate lazy girl. I need to invest in some more products as I want to improve my skin as I feel like it looks a bit dull lately. I'm quite lucky in the sense that I don't really suffer from spots too often. I suffer from dry/combination skin so exfoliating is really important. I picked up the Quick Fix Exfoliating Scrub mask on a trip to Boots a few months ago. It is amazing!! Its a bargain as well at £4.99.
It's really refreshing to put on the skin and doesn't feel to heavy. It contains a mixture of pink rose clay, pomegranate extract and glycolic acid helping balance out your skin tone and cleanse. It doesn't have an unpleasant smell either which to me is so important as I'm not going to smother something on my face that smells disgusting.
You simply dampen your face, squeeze out a decent amount and massage it for about a minute all over your face and neck. I usually rub it in circular motions. It contains beads which start to exfoliate your skin when you massage it into your face. Leave it for 5-10 minutes and rinse of with warm water. I have to use a flannel to help remove it as it's a bit stubborn to get off with just water.
After I've washed it off my skin feels so soft and has a slight glow. I love it as I feel like it's a treat. I think it'd be perfect if your having a girls night in or fancy a bit of a pamper. And it won't break the bank.
