A Little Haul

Missguided- top and skirt co-ord

New Look- T-shirt

New Look- baby blue coat

So I thought I would share a few things I have bought recently. I've tried to not buy as much over the summer and think I've done pretty well! However a girl who loves clothes needs a few new additions.

I needed an outfit for a party I was invited to, it was almost like a bit of a school reunion. I decided to look on Missguided and see what they had to offer. I've been a bit funny about their clothes before as their sizing is quite small. However it turned out well. I joined the co-ord trend and decided to buy this set above. It consists of an A line skirt and boxy crop t-shirt. It's monochrome which I live in and has a floral print. They both fit really well and I got complimented a few times wearing it which was nice haha. The great thing about it is that the pieces can be worn separately which is perfect.

The t-shirt I bought on a trip to a local town near my uni. I got the keys to my house and decided to look round. I liked it as it's simple yet has a twist with the fringing details on the bottom.

I have wanted a baby blue coat for such a long time! Saw this coat on Asos as part of the New Look range and had to get it. I love the colour and the length. The quality of it isn't as good as I thought it would be but I can't let go of it. The fabric is quite a fuzzy texture so might be a tad itchy around the neck. However I think its going to be a nice addition and adds interest to my wardrobe. I love the big lapels on it and it has shaping at the back so it sits nicely on my body shape.

Quick Fix Facials- Exfoliating Scrub Mask

Thursday, 28 August 2014

Apologies for the lack of inventive posts lately, I don't know why but I've had a few unproductive days. I need to get my dare I say 'mojo' back haha!
I don't own many skin care products making me the ultimate lazy girl. I need to invest in some more products as I want to improve my skin as I feel like it looks a bit dull lately. I'm quite lucky in the sense that I don't really suffer from spots too often. I suffer from dry/combination skin so exfoliating is really important. I picked up the Quick Fix Exfoliating Scrub mask on a trip to Boots a few months ago. It is amazing!! Its a bargain as well at £4.99.
It's really refreshing to put on the skin and doesn't feel to heavy. It contains a mixture of pink rose clay, pomegranate extract and glycolic acid helping balance out your skin tone and cleanse. It doesn't have an unpleasant smell either which to me is so important as I'm not going to smother something on my face that smells disgusting.
You simply dampen your face, squeeze out a decent amount and massage it for about a minute all over your face and neck. I usually rub it in circular motions. It contains beads which start to exfoliate your skin when you massage it into your face. Leave it for 5-10 minutes and rinse of with warm water. I have to use a flannel to help remove it as it's a bit stubborn to get off with just water.
After I've washed it off my skin feels so soft and has a slight glow. I love it as I feel like it's a treat. I think it'd be perfect if your having a girls night in or fancy a bit of a pamper. And it won't break the bank.

Covered in Elephants

jumpsuit- New Look (in the sale)
Fedora hat- H&M
Sandals- New Look

Elephant prints appear to be my thing at the moment, I constantly wear the skirt I got from Asos that features them and now I have this amazing jumpsuit. Every time I've gone into New Look recently I've seen it but never bothered to try it on. Once I saw it was on sale in my local store I knew I had to get it. It comes with a black studded belt too but I wanted to be extra comfy. Thank god for the elasticated waist. oh and added bonus it has pockets, WIN!  Today I went for a little venture into London to a couple of museums to do research for my third year project so I needed something that was comfortable to wear. It felt like the perfect mix of comfort but still looking 'trendy' (fyi I don't believe I am trendy at all). Being obsessed with blogging and watching Youtubers I have seen many of my favourite people wearing Fedora hats. I finally took the plunge and bought one a few weeks ago from H&M and I'm not going to lie I love it. I didn't realise how much people looked if you wore a hat, I definitely caught a few people staring on the train I got. Is it really that unusual for someone to wear a hat?? My sandals are a dream! Well saying that my feet are kinda paying the price now  ( hence why I'm not wearing them in the photos) but I'm still breaking them in. Plus my feet are so weak its getting quite worrying now :/. My mum actually spotted them and I just instantly had to have them. I love a chunky pair of sandals and with the cream colour I think they tick all the right boxes for summer.

I need to get some better background for outfit photos I know but right now I have to work with what I can :)

Miracle Hair duo

Wednesday, 16 July 2014

I am in no way and expert when it comes to hair. In fact I'm pretty terrible. Naturally I have extremely curly hair that always goes frizzy every time I brush/ comb/ style it so I used to reach from my straighteners every single day.

But after years of over straightening and not using heat protectant (sorry) I had done the damage and my hair had to be cut off as it was completely ruined. A goal of mine for years has been to have long hair and it's finally growing!! yay :D

But obviously with my wanting length I've had to tone down the heat styling and embrace the curls, and I feel like I've found two products that actually work for me.

VO5 Mega Hold weather resistant styling mousse

This stuff is honestly a life saver. Many people have told me that mousse is a must have if you have curly hair. However I had never used it before buying this beauty. My hair has been so much easier to control since using it and now I can't imagine not having it in my life. When pumping it into your hand it's scary at first because it expands loads and I always think I've got way too much. But it's quick and easy to distribute evenly through the hair and doesn't leave my hair feeling sticky which is the main thing I was concerned about. I believe it does what it says on the tin- strong control and 24 hour hold

Frizz Ease Go Curlier 48 hour curls heat- activated spray
Frizz ease was clearly made for me. I love this as it creates such nice waves. As my hair is getting longer the curls are starting to become less poodle like which is making me very happy. This spray is light, smells amazing and adds the softness I have wanted for a while! It says its best to blow dry with a diffuser which I don't own but I can imagine the result would be lovely. I leave my hair to air dry most of the time and it still produces soft curls.

I'm so happy I'm now starting to come up with  a hair routine I'm happy with. I actually need to get it cut but I'm too scared as it's taken so long to grow that I don't want some hairdresser just chopping half of it off. It's happened to me so many times that I have cried.

Have you used these products before??

A couple of new Primark Additions

Tuesday, 24 June 2014

Alright!
Being at a uni that's a short train ride away from London is really exciting. However its not so good for my bank balance. I had to go into London to do some fabric shopping, but I figured I would pop into the Tottenham Court Road Primark as it is my favourite. So what was supposed to be a trip for me picking up a couple of necessities for my uni summer ball turned into me picking up a couple of items I absolutely love!!

I did actually need some sandals. The one's I own literally feel like cardboard at the bottom and do not provide any comfort to my feet. After seeing Kate from gh0stparties (check out her blog!!) show these Aztec print sandals in a Primark haul I knew I needed them in my life. I picked up the monochrome coloured pair for £4 which I think is amazing! They also did a tan and coral coloured pair with the same design but didn't have my size :'(. I'm still going to look for them ha!

The most exciting find for me was this amazing kimono. I have wanted a kimono for the longest time but for some reason I have never bought one. What I loved about this one is that it's knitted but is still light and floaty. Plus I'm a lover of fringing (I adore the 1920's). The neutral shade and soft floral pattern on it makes it wearable with lots of different outfits. I literally couldn't leave it.

I saw lots of pieces in Primark that  I could see me wearing for summer. Hence why I will not be going there for a little while (yeah right)

Hope your having a lovely start to the week
