Rainbow and Loud

A fashion themed post, I know what is happening. It's been a long time since I've posted any outfit posts as well let's face it the self confidence has been real low lately. But I just had to share this jumper I bought a little while a go as I'm a little bit obsessed.

Rainbow seems to be a real trend at the moment and I love it. I've been really inspired by bloggers lately and seen so many bright coloured pieces. I usually hide behind black and white outfits, but I think it's time to have a little more fun. My style has become quite boring lately so I'm trying to bring back the buzz I used to have when creating outfits. I hope soon I will be able to outfit posts outside... maybe...one day.

Originally I wanted to buy a glittery striped jumper from Warehouse, but like everything I have my eye on it sold out so quickly! But i found this little bright number from Asos. I pair this jumper usually with black jeans so the focus is entirely on this piece, but I think it would look great with a blue denim skirt as well. It's a great jumper to wear when you're having a bad day as it just instantly boosts your mood, and i need that as I'm always feeling the blues at the start of the year!

I've done this in the past so I figured I would do it again.  And again I do want to apologise for the lack of posts lately. My brain physically cannot function while I do work experience and working on Saturdays as well, hence why the originality of posts has been pretty poor. Anyways no more moaning Katie. My love for Asos is at a very high level currently. They do such beautiful things!! My saved items section is getting ridiculous, I want to order so much stuff but I just can't bring myself to do it as it is near Christmas now. Does anyone else think the adverts have started way too early this year?? I think I will end up making a cheeky order in the next week or so.

Anyways here are my picks from Asos at the moment. I'm having a major urge to buy tops at the moment both smart and casual. I've wanted a black jumper for ages and really want to get my hands on this chunky jumper. Also how lovely are those heels!!  saw Susie from Hello October vlog them ages ago (yes I mention her all the time, she is definitely one of my favourites haha). I really want them in my life! I feel like as I've now embraced hats another colour would be something that my wardrobe would welcome with open arms, oh hello grey fedora. The leather leggings are something I've been wanting to rock for ages, I don't actually own any pairs of leggings which is so bizarre. I can't find any that aren't see through and that don't fall down. Is that too much too ask haha.

Little Update #1

I want to start a new type of posts just giving updates into what I've been up to. There may be times where I'll be crazy busy (I know for a fact this will be the case for third year of university) so I can hopefully at least find the time to write these posts.

So how have I spent the last few days eh??? In bed, I am currently suffering from a ridiculous cold. Today I am actually starting to feel better thank god!! Yesterday I was so bad I literally felt like I was dieing (maybe a tad overdramatic but hey ho). Here's some things I've learnt over the last few days:

1. I fidget so much!! I can't keep still and have got to a point where my bed is doing my head in

2. Who knew changing your pyjama top could be so thrilling, literally been the happiest thing that's happened to me. I bought an awesome top from Primark that features all of the Disney villains (I believe it's a Halloween themed top). 3. I love Asos clothes a bit too much

4.Don't take naps in the afternoon for longer than two hours, been cracking out some four/five hour naps and have not had a decent nights sleep for four nights in a row now. Don't' know how I'm still functioning.

5. Watching chick flicks whilst being ill means I need lots of tissues. I'm in a very vulnerable and emotional state right now. I watched P.S I Love you yesterday and I haven't cried that much at a film in ages. I want an attractive Irish man that can sing and play guitar in my life. There's nothing wrong with that right?? I actually prefer the guy that plays William in it to Gerard Butler. I also watched 13 going on 30, oh my I have missed watching that film. Haven't seen it in so long but definitely a favourite of mine. I also fancy Mark Ruffalo so that helps quite a lot. Can you see a theme emerging, attractive men in every film I watch hmmm


I miss being at uni, I miss outside air and I miss being able to breathe through my nose properly. Everyone definitely takes that last one for granted.

A Little Haul

So I thought I would share a few things I have bought recently. I've tried to not buy as much over the summer and think I've done pretty well! However a girl who loves clothes needs a few new additions.

 

I needed an outfit for a party I was invited to, it was almost like a bit of a school reunion. I decided to look on Missguided and see what they had to offer. I've been a bit funny about their clothes before as their sizing is quite small. However it turned out well. I joined the co-ord trend and decided to buy this set above. It consists of an A line skirt and boxy crop t-shirt. It's monochrome which I live in and has a floral print. They both fit really well and I got complimented a few times wearing it which was nice haha. The great thing about it is that the pieces can be worn separately which is perfect.

 

The t-shirt I bought on a trip to a local town near my uni. I got the keys to my house and decided to look round. I liked it as it's simple yet has a twist with the fringing details on the bottom.

 

I have wanted a baby blue coat for such a long time! Saw this coat on Asos as part of the New Look range and had to get it. I love the colour and the length. The quality of it isn't as good as I thought it would be but I can't let go of it. The fabric is quite a fuzzy texture so might be a tad itchy around the neck. However I think its going to be a nice addition and adds interest to my wardrobe. I love the big lapels on it and it has shaping at the back so it sits nicely on my body shape.

I'm going through a phase at the moment where I dislike pretty much everything in my wardrobe. I'm looking at loads of things thinking why the hell did you buy that! I rediscovered this baby blue short sleeved jumper I bought in the spring time from New Look. It's slightly colder here and raining as I am typing this. So I felt like it was acceptable to wear a jumper even though it's suppose to be August. I love wearing my black tube pants (how they're described on the Asos website). Not gonna lie when I first got them bloody hell they were uncomfortable. The waistband has like no give in it. However I've persisted and now they are actually quite loose around the waist. Either I've lost some weight or they've stretched (I'll just tell myself the first option) haha! My necklace I bought from the clothes show live a couple of years back from the Regal and Rose stall that was there.

I think the title of this is appropriate as sadly I'm having to chuck these pair of shoes. There is somehow a massive crack through the sole making them unwearable. Can we please just have a moment to mourn the shoes....

I now want some actual Doc Marten style brogues.

Now I'm gonna go back to convincing myself to do some work even though it's not going to happen and listening to Lower than Atlantis. My personal favourite song right now is Here We Go, have a listen if you want!

 

 

 

 

 



Festival Wishlist

 

 

So as everyone knows festival season is well under way. Around now is the time I'm usually getting excited about heading to Reading festival. But unfortunately due to lack of funds I'm not going and honestly feel like I am going to go into a state of depression. Next year I'll be there again!! Anyways I love love love festival fashion!! I wish I could pull off half the trends I see. Above are pieces that I would love to buy if I was going to a festival this year. They are all from the wonderful Asos which is my favourite online store.
I picked the embroided black skater dress as it's quite simple, looks extremely comfortable and has hints of colour in it. I personally really enjoy wearing a dress as there really easy to chuck on and look nice without actually putting any effort in.
The black cut out boots are simple to wear and the heel is pretty small so should fingers crossed be comfy. Plus they will go with all outfits.

The denim shorts are a classic! They are high waisted and a mom style so slightly loose fitting. There a decent length. I literally hate the whole trend of girls wearing shorts that show off their bums! I had a competition with my mates last year at Reading counting how many girls bums you could see, got well into the double figures haha.

The Good Vibes T-shirt I adore (and apparently everyone else does as it's nearly sold out). I love items of clothing that express positivity. I'm naturally a pessimistic person but at a festival I always feel so happy and care free. I feel like it's an appropriate shirt for me and just reminds everyone to have a great time whilst seeing live music! Plus the cute pom pom detailing around the bottom gives a fun twist.

A Fedora with an elephant band on it nough said.

The brown suede bag is a must have for me. Fringing has been one of my favourite trends throughout my teenage years. This could be due to my love for the 1920's and I remember seeing Vanessa Hudgens have a brown bag with fringing on and just feel in love with her boho style (proud high school musical obsessive here). Practicality wise it may not be the best but it would look amazing!

The kimono is simply beautiful!! Again little bit of fringing (you can't have to much right). I love the bold shades used and chose this one as it looks light/airy. A kimono is great to just throw on and feel in the festival spirit.

 

I obviously would choose some hair accessories and jewellery as well but didn't want to over do. Maybe I can do a separate one for small acccesories and things if anyone would like to see it.

A good old pair of sunnies

ASOS Classic Retro Sunglasses

I love sunglasses- fact!

Any excuse I get to wear them I will, even if it's dull. Sunnies are probably my favourite part of summer as it's acceptable to wear them. I really want to get my hands on a pair of Raybans (hopefully soon). But after seeing Suzie from HelloOctober rocking this pair from Asos I instantly had to have them as they reminded me of the classic clubmaster style.
I wear them constantly and I think they are quite trendy for me. Usually larger frames tend to suit me but I think these work quite nicely.

Anyone else love sunglasses as much as me??.. no didn't think so haha
