Asos Bright Stripe Jumper - £22.00

A fashion themed post, I know what is happening. It's been a long time since I've posted any outfit posts as well let's face it the self confidence has been real low lately. But I just had to share this jumper I bought a little while a go as I'm a little bit obsessed.

Rainbow seems to be a real trend at the moment and I love it. I've been really inspired by bloggers lately and seen so many bright coloured pieces. I usually hide behind black and white outfits, but I think it's time to have a little more fun. My style has become quite boring lately so I'm trying to bring back the buzz I used to have when creating outfits. I hope soon I will be able to outfit posts outside... maybe...one day.

Originally I wanted to buy a glittery striped jumper from Warehouse, but like everything I have my eye on it sold out so quickly! But i found this little bright number from Asos. I pair this jumper usually with black jeans so the focus is entirely on this piece, but I think it would look great with a blue denim skirt as well. It's a great jumper to wear when you're having a bad day as it just instantly boosts your mood, and i need that as I'm always feeling the blues at the start of the year!

Crete 2017

Tuesday, 24 October 2017

Last week I went on a week long holiday to the beautiful island of Crete. I cannot say how grateful I am whenever I get to go away and see a new place as I've had years where I simply could not afford it. A week of chill, sun and spending time with my boyfriend Ben. Both of us had never been anywhere in Greece so it was so exciting to experience a new culture.

It Was Time For A Change

Saturday, 30 April 2016

I'm not a very outgoing, spontaneous person, I never have been. I stick to what I know, stay within comfort zones and just get on with life. There are many things I've thought about changing in my life. My fitness level and overall health is something I'm massively keen to get back on track. My style I want to mix up a bit. But my hair is one of those things where I haven't really changed for years.
As crazy as this is going to sound my hair is pretty sacred to me, I know such a bloody girly stupid thing to say. But I've always had issues with it. As a kid I had what I called my afro but essentially short ringlety frizzy hair and it was just atrocious. And discovering straighteners as a teenager meant I overdid it and well my hair essentially died from the heat. I've kept my hair the same for as long as I can remember really, only getting the ends trimmed. I feel like you're a bit limited when you have curly hair. For years I've been trying to grow it and finally it's got a bit longer now. But it still has a way to go to what I want it to be (below the boobage area).
I've been contemplating getting a dip dye for ages and I've finally taken the plunge. I didn't want my whole hair done as dare I say it I like my natural hair colour. I got the ends dip dyed in this gorgeous vibrant purple and I bloody love it. I think the colour is gorgeous and goes so well with my dark hair. I literally am so happy with it.

I'm now a proud member of the dip dye club, I just feel a bit revamped now. Maybe I should think about making some other spontaneous decisions.

Step On My Blue Suede Shoes

Monday, 14 March 2016

Well Boots but the title had to be used. This is a shoe appreciation post. I am without a doubt addicted to buying shoes. They just finish off an outfit in my opinion and I just have fallen in love with this particular pair which I hope to feature in an outfit post soon!
For Christmas just gone I really couldn't decide on anything I wanted, I've reached that annoying age. So whilst browsing New Look's website as I do most days I stumbled across this pair of navy suede pointed boots and said to my mum I need them in my love.
One I'm obsessed with navy blue now thanks to my mother who has had a love for it since I can remember. Seriously if it comes in navy she'll want it. And two I am a sucker for suede at the moment. All these suede biker jackets around lately are so so pretty.

Now these are without a doubt the loudest shoes I've ever owned. People honestly must think I'm wearing massive heels but I think that's the attitude of these. They just look fierce with the pointed toe and like they want to make a statement. I love wearing these with jeans and a t-shirt as it creates more of a I made an effort today look when lets be honest I probably got dressed while I was still half asleep. Its got to the point where if I'm walking through London and they get a bit of a dirt on them I'm frantically trying to wipe them, it's bad!

I just love saying oh I know I'll put on my blue suede shoes, just makes you think of Elvis.

I Got Sick

Friday, 19 February 2016

Coat- Primark
Top- Don Broco Gig
Jeans- Boohoo
Beanie- Topshop

I know not the nicest of titles for a post but as you can see it's relevant. I wanted to create an outfit around this top I have been wearing constantly since I got it. Back in December I went to see the band Don Broco at the Brixton Academy in London. I usually don't tend to get merch at gigs but I really wanted a shirt of theirs as I've been listening to them for a couple of years now. I loved this shirt in particular due to the doodle like skull prints all over it. I am massive fan of skulls but have been steering away from them lately as I don't want to be known as the girl who only wears things with skulls on. And breathe... and I Got Sick is a great song form their album Automatic which has been on repeat since I got it for Christmas.
With a band t-shirt I have to wear jeans, classic combination. These boohoo jeans I love, they're a really snug fit I won't lie but I think I can get away with it. The turn ups at the ankles add a bit of fun. Chucked on with a big coat and beanie and I'm ready for the cold weather.
So right now I'm tucked up with a hot water bottle under a blanket watching Pretty Little Liars. I had to come home early from volunteering as I've got such sharp stabbing pains in my rib area. I really hope it goes away soon! Also I appear to be pretty moody in these pictures, guess I need to learn what a smile is.

Boohoo Wishlist

Tuesday, 9 February 2016

Shocker I've found myself looking online at clothes again... Boohoo is a brand I used to have my hesitations about but lately after exploring their site I've found some really nice pieces. It's so eclectic and feel like it's different to other brands I look at regularly.
The striped shirt has an amazing colour scheme and I thought it was really different.
The shift dress I absolutely adore and will definitely be purchasing at some point. I feel like it's going to be the perfect dress for spring/summer as the floral pattern gives it the girly vibe I want but the lace and dark colours adds that bit of grunge.
I am in desperate need of some new sunglasses and I really like the look of those wayfarer ones.
Red is my current favourite colour to wear, mixed with brown hair I think it looks so stunning and classic. This off the shoulder lace dress looks so elegant and beautiful. Perfect if you want to feel like a lady for a special occasion. I just need an event to wear it for.
And yes I've picked a bit of nightwear. The teddy I've picked is probably a little bit on the sexy side to wear just casually at home with my parents around. However I really like the look of it and it would make a change to the mix and match pyjama's that I practically live in.

I have no doubt a cheeky Boohoo order will be made soon, question is which of these items will I purchase

My Current Favourite Dress

Tuesday, 24 November 2015

Dress- New Look
Jacket- George at Asda
Shoes- Topshop
Fedora- Asos
Rings- Empty Casket and random market stall
Bag- New Look

Hoorah an outfit post, it's been way too long. I'm trying to incorporate more dresses into my life again as I'm living in jeans as always. Now everyone knows I am a tartan and shirt lover so when I saw this dress I fell in love. It's loose and a decent length, I just hate a dress that just rides up. Plus its made up of a lovely dark shades of blues and reds. I feel really fashionable when wearing it and it's so easy to just put on add a leather jacket and you're ready to go.
My newest purchase is my navy blue fedora, the hats I'm loving are getting bigger and bigger. At first I was a bit scared to wear just caused its really wide brimmed, but I absolutely love it. Plus navy is a classic. The witch ring is an absolute gem, from my favourites at Empty Casket it just adds a hint of my personality without being over the top.

And my shoes, showing my love for burgundy, seriously I am obsessed at the moment. They fit in perfectly with the reds on the dress. I bought these thick soled brogues from Topshop as they reminded me of the Dr Marten brogues that I would love to get my hands on but a fraction of the price. Plus it makes a nice change from the mountain of black shoes I own. They are really well made, not the comfiest but I need to break them in a bit more. My small bag is something I always reach for. I call it my gig bag as its perfect for taking in London, its has a zip and folds over so there is no way my belongings are going anywhere out of my site.

I really like this outfit and think its perfect for the Autumn/Winter weather we're experiencing. It makes me feel girly, stylish and a bit grungy, so everything I like then.
Apologies about the bin in the background, not the best thing to look at. Honestly annoyed me so much when editing these. Well I'm off to work for the afternoon, the retail world is getting so busy in the weeks leading up to Christmas, help me!!

Fall/Autumn Wedding Inspiration

Thursday, 12 November 2015

Recently I came across The Black Tux, a tuxedo rental company, and decided to come up with some inspiration for an Autumn/Fall wedding.

Being my favourite season by far I jumped at the chance as if I were to get married I would want it to be around this time so I felt it'd be interesting to see which direction I would take it. I'm a long way off from getting married but it's fun to think about it and what I would like. Come on girls we all think about it a little bit...

I think my choices are kind of obvious but the leaves really are the main inspiration for this beautiful time period.  I picture a very rustic and warm feel to it, even with the terrible weather we experience in England. Plus I live with a very busy lifestyle of travelling to London a lot so I think it would be nice to escape to a more chilled rustic atmosphere for the day then the suburban hell we face most days.

I had to start with what the bride and groom would wear as it's the main focal point. I don't know what it is about a navy suit but I just fall in love with them constantly. I picked the Holden Outfit from Black Tux as I think it just looks very polished with the hint of edginess I love. The rich navy with black accents and crisp white shirt. Match made in heaven! The perfect thing about this is you can rent the whole outfit from Black Tux including the details like the shoes and cufflinks you literally don't have to worry about buying the extras.

Now for the bride immediately I thought about lace and sleeves. They're are both things I've always envisioned myself wearing but for Autumn particularly in England I just think you need a sleeve for practicality as it will be freezing. It also fits with the gothic Victorian lace trend that being seen in many high street stores. This dress is just gorgeous!

Burgundy, Oxblood, Berry whatever you want to call it seems to be everywhere and in particular featured a lot this year. Therefore it was the obvious colour scheme choice for me as I am lusting after anything in this shade currently. It's such a rich and sophisticated colour and just adds that vampy edge to everything. They are all traits I like to portray in my style choices and I would definitely want them shown on a wedding day. Plus I think it is a shade that suits all skin tones so would be perfect for bridesmaids. I think the key with this colour is to keep everything else pretty simple seen with floral arrangements this colour is the focal point keep everything else neutral like with the boquet above.

Its Been A While...

Sunday, 25 October 2015

I'm the girl who absolutely loves Halloween yet of course has not done one single Halloween related post or post in October for that matter. Things have been dare I say a bit wild over the last few weeks. I've started volunteering with a costume company in London, so I've been balancing that along with work and taking on freelance costume work, argh!
This October has really not been eventful in terms of fun things to do to get me in the spirit for Halloween. I can't quite believe my favourite day is less than a week away. Am I doing anything for it?? Currently sod all :(

The other day I decided to go for a walk with my dad as I said I wanted to take some photo's for my blog as I miss posting! What better way to experience Autumn with a bit of the outdoors. Plus I really don't go outside enough, I've decided I need to start taking up walking its just so good to escape home sometimes.

Playsuit- Asos
Cardigan- New Look
Boots- Primark

I wore my new playsuit from Asos as the colours are perfect for Autumn. I only wish I got some more shots of my outfit but trying to explain what I want in the photo's my dad takes is hard. He really doesn't understand the concept of outfit posts, but I'm so grateful that he at least took these photos. I'm trying to branch out of wearing just jeans and band t-shirts all of the time. This is quite smart for a piece I can wear every day. And it's a kimono style so is perfect for covering the tops of my arms, result! My favourite Primark boots= bad idea to walk through the mud in. Seriously what was I actually thinking.

Finally a post that has got a little bit of an Autumnal feeling. Needed to showcase my love for my favourite season somehow.
And yeah there's not really a reason why I haven't posted except I haven't had a lot of time lately. So yeah work work work woop. Oh and well I guess I could quickly mention what I've somehow ended up in a relationship, I know me. I guess miracles can happen sometime eh :)

Autumn Wishlist- New Look

Tuesday, 15 September 2015

I think I have a problem as I am seriously addicted to New Look currently. I've found a few pieces on there lately that I really want to get my hands on. So I thought I would share them with you lovely lot. Oh and I have a feeling there may be quite a few wish list posts as Autumn/Winter is my favourite time of the year.
The shoes are everything I love... black, chunky, lace up like a dream. Also being pointy I really feel they give off witchy vibes which you know I am obsessed with. They're currently on sale so I think it's inevitable that they'll be purchased soon. The suede duffle bag I am in love with. Purple is my favourite colour and this is very different to any bag I've bought in the past. A tartan scarf because it's essential to buy at least one every year :/. The purple blanket wrap I think is perfect for Autumn its not too thick but it'll be nice to throw on with any outfit. On the website there is a grunge style section which I was immediately drawn too. And from that range I loved the black long sleeved dress. It'd be easy to wear and I love the placket detailing on the front. I don't own enough skirts so I feel the black corduroy one would be a perfect addition adding a  bit of texture.

I can see the outfits emerging!

Dream vs. Reality Festival Fashion

Tuesday, 28 July 2015

Images- Pinterest

Festivals in general are my favourite thing about summer. They're everything that I love, live music, people all together and just letting go and forgetting about the stresses that you go through. Festival fashion is such a diverse thing. I thought this post would be quite fun as I've collected photo's from Pinterest of what I would want to wear and look like in my head. Where as in reality you just can't get away with half the things at British festivals. There is no way any of the girls in the photo's above did a whole weekend at a festival. To look that pristine after 3/4 days of camping is just not bloody possible. If it is then what is there secret because I am dieing to know! Reality is everyone get's sweaty, dirty and wet from the rain that is bound to happen at some point. Here's my dream scenario of what I want to where and look like vs. reality:

Dream
*Maxi dresses
*Kimono's
*Fedoras
*Boots
*Perfect beachy waves with head pieces and floral crowns
*Lots of jewellery
*Smelling fresh as a daisy
*Glowing skin

Reality
*Band tee's (not that I'm complaining about that)
*denim, lots of denim
*Waterproof
*Wellies
*Chucking my hair up in a messy bun and wearing a floral crown to hide the fact that dry shampoo doesn't work for me
*Sweaty and dirty skin

Well whatever the case I have way too much planning outfits and can't wait to see what people come up with this year. I'm so excited for Reading now!!

Red Vibes

Sunday, 12 July 2015

Ramones T-shirt- Primark
Denim Jacket- New Look
Shorts- New Look
Sandals- New Look

This is a pretty New Look heavy outfit hmmm. It's been ages since I've done a proper outfit post but I felt like I wanted to share this one. Anyone that knows me is aware of how often I wear Ramones T-shirts and yes I do listen to them. The Ramones are one of my favourite bands. I guess I kind of collect their t-shirts and this one is the classic design. But the main focal point of this outfit is my red shorts. They just scream festival vibes to me with the pom poms and pattern on them. I love them and they're comfy too so it's just a bonus. Also they are great to just lounge about in at home. The denim jacket is a staple for me during summer, I am living in this one. I love the wash of this jacket and it has a little bit of distressing. My shoes I bought last year and now they are stating to become comfy. I've persisted with them as I think they are too pretty  to not wear (great logic by me as always).

Being back at home after uni unemployed is a tad frustrating. I've managed to get a small costume making job but I need something regular really. I had a pretty fun week though. I got to see one of my uni friends Sade and we went to see the band Nothing But Thieves. Live they are amazing, check them out if you haven't.
