Step On My Blue Suede Shoes

Monday, 14 March 2016

Well Boots but the title had to be used. This is a shoe appreciation post. I am without a doubt addicted to buying shoes. They just finish off an outfit in my opinion and I just have fallen in love with this particular pair which I hope to feature in an outfit post soon!
For Christmas just gone I really couldn't decide on anything I wanted, I've reached that annoying age. So whilst browsing New Look's website as I do most days I stumbled across this pair of navy suede pointed boots and said to my mum I need them in my love.
One I'm obsessed with navy blue now thanks to my mother who has had a love for it since I can remember. Seriously if it comes in navy she'll want it. And two I am a sucker for suede at the moment. All these suede biker jackets around lately are so so pretty.

Now these are without a doubt the loudest shoes I've ever owned. People honestly must think I'm wearing massive heels but I think that's the attitude of these. They just look fierce with the pointed toe and like they want to make a statement. I love wearing these with jeans and a t-shirt as it creates more of a I made an effort today look when lets be honest I probably got dressed while I was still half asleep. Its got to the point where if I'm walking through London and they get a bit of a dirt on them I'm frantically trying to wipe them, it's bad!

I just love saying oh I know I'll put on my blue suede shoes, just makes you think of Elvis.

Wish List- Sole Affair

Saturday, 10 January 2015

I am a shoe girl let's just make that known right now. I think shoes are a key piece to an outfit and can change up a look instantly. I was asked by Sole Affair to come up with a wish list featuring some pairs of shoes from their website. As you can imagine I was more than happy to search for items :). It was hard to narrow it down but I picked five pairs that I think would fit perfectly into my wardrobe. For me I'm all about black shoes. I very rarely venture into lighter colours as I'm all about keeping it classic with the colour but mixing it up with the style of shoe. However I have tried to mix it up with my choices.
At the moment I am loving chunky masculine looking shoes. I think paired with some skinny trousers creates such a nice look.  That's exactly why I chose the first pair the GRAFTON Chunky Cleated Platform Lace Up Ankle Boots. They have that Doc vibe about them and I feel like they fit with my style perfectly as well as being really practical to wear on a daily basis. I think these are my favourite pair of the lot if I had to choose.
The second pair The Duke Block Heel Chelsea boots I thought were beautiful. I actually prefer them in the antique red colour and think they would be a very subtle way of adding tones of colour to an outfit. I love the richness of oxblood red.  With the buckle detailing I feel they look delicate yet rugged at the same time.
I also wanted to pick a couple of pairs of heels. I picked the Fox Black Metal Trim heels as I thought they were classic with a twist due to the gold trim. I like the overall shape of them and like how simple they are.
Okay how badass are the fourth pair! I love studs, I love the rock edgy vibe of them, they are just something else (can you tell I really like the Kitty studded boots...)
The final pair the white leather sandals I picked as I don't own white shoes and I liked the fact they are open toed. I think there's something quite elegant about them.

If you want stylish yet affordable shoes then Sole Affair is the place to look. Check them out here.

Which pair of shoes do you like the best??

What's this about Autumn??

Dress- Primark
Sandals Primark
Leather Jacket- Asda
Hair- a right state
A week into third year at university and I'm already ill, nice one immune system. So we've reached September that means the start of Autumn right. Well apparently the weather here in England currently doesn't think so. We're currently experiencing a little heat wave which I'm not a fan of. Both myself and my wardrobe are extremely confused. I packed coats, jumpers and boots so I am not prepared for warmness. Every morning I've been staring at my clothes thinking what do I do.
I did pack a couple of summer dresses just in case. This dress is from Primark and from what I remember was only £5. I loved the colour of and it was so light that I thought it'd be perfect to just chuck on when I feel like I don't want to wear anything. You know those days where it's so hot that layers of clothes just aren't appealing. I'm aware that you can see my bra through the dress, I have to work with what I have haha! The sandals I bought after watching Kate from gh0stparties show them in a haul. They were such a good price and I really like the pattern on them. I've been living in my leather jacket so it's a must right now.
Today my throat is extremely sore and I'm feeling a tad under the weather. I am heading out for a late lunch with a few of my friends from uni. We're going for Mexican so I'm hoping the spice will help me out (although not too spicy as I can't handle it). I think we're heading out for a few drinks to. I feel like if I carry on with doing things then hopefully whatever this 'illness' is will just disappear. Tomorrow I will take it easy.  I don't have time to be ill I got shit to do!

Butterfly World

Sunday, 24 August 2014

Yesterday I took a trip to Butterfly world with my best friend Charlotte and her mum. It was good to get out of my house and simple have a nice day outdoors. It got me out of my sulk about not being at Reading (I'm like a child) but seriously it looks soo good!!. Anyways we got to see many different insects and some kids even were holding cockroaches which fair play to them cause I don't think I will volunteer to do that any time soon haha.

My favourite part was going into the butterfly tent as they get to fly around naturally and it's just so calming in there. We then just had a walk around and managed to get back to the car just before the heavens opened. I need more days like this as I'm losing my mind being stuck at home with no job and no money!!

Hope you've had a great weekend!

Covered in Elephants

jumpsuit- New Look (in the sale)
Fedora hat- H&M
Sandals- New Look

Elephant prints appear to be my thing at the moment, I constantly wear the skirt I got from Asos that features them and now I have this amazing jumpsuit. Every time I've gone into New Look recently I've seen it but never bothered to try it on. Once I saw it was on sale in my local store I knew I had to get it. It comes with a black studded belt too but I wanted to be extra comfy. Thank god for the elasticated waist. oh and added bonus it has pockets, WIN!  Today I went for a little venture into London to a couple of museums to do research for my third year project so I needed something that was comfortable to wear. It felt like the perfect mix of comfort but still looking 'trendy' (fyi I don't believe I am trendy at all). Being obsessed with blogging and watching Youtubers I have seen many of my favourite people wearing Fedora hats. I finally took the plunge and bought one a few weeks ago from H&M and I'm not going to lie I love it. I didn't realise how much people looked if you wore a hat, I definitely caught a few people staring on the train I got. Is it really that unusual for someone to wear a hat?? My sandals are a dream! Well saying that my feet are kinda paying the price now  ( hence why I'm not wearing them in the photos) but I'm still breaking them in. Plus my feet are so weak its getting quite worrying now :/. My mum actually spotted them and I just instantly had to have them. I love a chunky pair of sandals and with the cream colour I think they tick all the right boxes for summer.

I need to get some better background for outfit photos I know but right now I have to work with what I can :)

Aztec Playsuit

Saturday, 19 July 2014

Playsuit: New Look
Sandals: New Look
Denim Vest: George at Asda
Rings- New Look, Knit and Stitch exhibition

I really should pluck up the courage and ask someone to take my photos for me, I just don't know who would do it haha. We're currently having a massive heat wave in the UK and I'm really struggling to decide what to wear.
Looking though my wardrobe I found this playsuit I got from New Look last year. I need to inject more colour into my life and I loved the use of colour in this playsuit along with the pattern. It's loose and light so perfect for hot weather. And with the elasticated waist I feel like it flatters my body shape. The back also has a nice detailing but stupidly forgot to take  a photo of it.
I added this denim vest as it adds a bit of interest and creates a laid back look. My shoes were a total bargain! £5 in the sale, their simple but I love them!
The two rings are my current favourite combination at the moment. Thee moon and star ring I got in a multipack from New Look (where the majority of this outfit is from). The purple stoned ring was from a jewellery stand at the Knit and Stitch Exhibition I went to in London back in October (may not sound fun to most people but I loved it!).

Apologies for my hair, I just cannot work with it when it's this humid I know it looks horrific haha
What do you guys wear when it's ridiculously hot outside??

A couple of new Primark Additions

Tuesday, 24 June 2014

Alright!
Being at a uni that's a short train ride away from London is really exciting. However its not so good for my bank balance. I had to go into London to do some fabric shopping, but I figured I would pop into the Tottenham Court Road Primark as it is my favourite. So what was supposed to be a trip for me picking up a couple of necessities for my uni summer ball turned into me picking up a couple of items I absolutely love!!

I did actually need some sandals. The one's I own literally feel like cardboard at the bottom and do not provide any comfort to my feet. After seeing Kate from gh0stparties (check out her blog!!) show these Aztec print sandals in a Primark haul I knew I needed them in my life. I picked up the monochrome coloured pair for £4 which I think is amazing! They also did a tan and coral coloured pair with the same design but didn't have my size :'(. I'm still going to look for them ha!

The most exciting find for me was this amazing kimono. I have wanted a kimono for the longest time but for some reason I have never bought one. What I loved about this one is that it's knitted but is still light and floaty. Plus I'm a lover of fringing (I adore the 1920's). The neutral shade and soft floral pattern on it makes it wearable with lots of different outfits. I literally couldn't leave it.

I saw lots of pieces in Primark that  I could see me wearing for summer. Hence why I will not be going there for a little while (yeah right)

Hope your having a lovely start to the week

Black Strappy Heels

Thursday, 8 May 2014

Hello All!
It's May already crazy stuff! Apologies for lack of posts, finding free time is proving to be difficult at the moment.
So from watching countless YouTube videos I have seen so many video's of youtubers wearing black strappy heels and have fallen in love with them. I have been on the hunt for the perfect pair and finally caved and bought some from New Look

I chose to go for a block heel as I'm not the best at walking in heels. I don't think I can wear these on a casual day. I do however love the whole jeans and strappy heels combination. I'm kind of channelling my inner Claire Marshall (love her videos check her out!!). These were £19.99 I believe which isn't bad!
I now need to prep my feet for summer so they look decent in these as a lot of foot is exposed. I need a night out soon to test them out. I know my feet will hurt as I have weak feet haha :)

Do you have any black strappy heels you recommend and what do you wear them with??

Thanks for reading!
