Weekend Away With The Girls

Tuesday, 12 February 2019

I'm a little bit of a dreamer, I always have these ideas I want to do but talk myself out of it. I am on a mission to go away on more little trips as I'm such a hermit and spend so much time at home. Last September I mentioned to my girl friends that I really wanted to do a weekend away, stay somewhere like a cabin and be a bit boujee by finding somewhere with a hot. They are like the in thing right now and Instagram just makes them look pretty. We don't all live around the same area and being adults and all we barely get time when the six of us can hang out. Its not like when we were back in school and could hang out most of the time. So we all decided that we'd free a weekend in our diaries and go somewhere for a little reunion. Towards the end of last year I was feeling extremely lonely and like I'd lost contact with everyone. So I really do value the time I get to spend with the people I care about. We of course always had so much to talk about and bought a large supply of Prosecco (or beer for Ania).

Crete 2017

Tuesday, 24 October 2017

Last week I went on a week long holiday to the beautiful island of Crete. I cannot say how grateful I am whenever I get to go away and see a new place as I've had years where I simply could not afford it. A week of chill, sun and spending time with my boyfriend Ben. Both of us had never been anywhere in Greece so it was so exciting to experience a new culture.

Lanzarote Photo Diary

Friday, 3 March 2017

Here I am with another little holiday photo diary. There were many years where I didn't go away once and it got to the point where I was going insane and needed a break away. I've been fortunate enough to go on a couple of holidays over the last year and I cannot tell you how grateful I am to experience a few days away. I was lucky enough to be invited to go to Lanzarote with my boyfriend and his family for a week.
I wanted to experience a week of blue skies, sun and just pure relaxation. I sort of got that... minus getting sunburnt on the first day and then catching the flu on the second day and it lasting the whole week I was there. But I still had an amazing time and I would love to go back.

Venice 2016

Friday, 30 September 2016

For years I've been jealous of reading about what felt like everyone in the world going on holiday except me. I've been to a few places but there are those places where you've dreamt of going to and I have a pretty long list. But one place in particular I've wanted to go for years is Venice in Italy, and well a couple of weeks ago that dream came true. It's taken me ages to edit the photos so apologies this is a little late.
The whole holiday itself was a bit of a dream as I went on holiday with my boyfriend Ben which also is something I thought I would never say. And Venice is an extremely romantic place so it was a rather lovely place to go to on our first holiday together. And plus I loved being able to spend a few days together just the two of us as work makes it tricky to see each other a lot of the time.

Butterfly World

Sunday, 24 August 2014

Yesterday I took a trip to Butterfly world with my best friend Charlotte and her mum. It was good to get out of my house and simple have a nice day outdoors. It got me out of my sulk about not being at Reading (I'm like a child) but seriously it looks soo good!!. Anyways we got to see many different insects and some kids even were holding cockroaches which fair play to them cause I don't think I will volunteer to do that any time soon haha.

My favourite part was going into the butterfly tent as they get to fly around naturally and it's just so calming in there. We then just had a walk around and managed to get back to the car just before the heavens opened. I need more days like this as I'm losing my mind being stuck at home with no job and no money!!

Hope you've had a great weekend!

Festival Wishlist

Tuesday, 12 August 2014

So as everyone knows festival season is well under way. Around now is the time I'm usually getting excited about heading to Reading festival. But unfortunately due to lack of funds I'm not going and honestly feel like I am going to go into a state of depression. Next year I'll be there again!! Anyways I love love love festival fashion!! I wish I could pull off half the trends I see. Above are pieces that I would love to buy if I was going to a festival this year. They are all from the wonderful Asos which is my favourite online store.
I picked the embroided black skater dress as it's quite simple, looks extremely comfortable and has hints of colour in it. I personally really enjoy wearing a dress as there really easy to chuck on and look nice without actually putting any effort in.
The black cut out boots are simple to wear and the heel is pretty small so should fingers crossed be comfy. Plus they will go with all outfits.
The denim shorts are a classic! They are high waisted and a mom style so slightly loose fitting. There a decent length. I literally hate the whole trend of girls wearing shorts that show off their bums! I had a competition with my mates last year at Reading counting how many girls bums you could see, got well into the double figures haha.
The Good Vibes T-shirt I adore (and apparently everyone else does as it's nearly sold out). I love items of clothing that express positivity. I'm naturally a pessimistic person but at a festival I always feel so happy and care free. I feel like it's an appropriate shirt for me and just reminds everyone to have a great time whilst seeing live music! Plus the cute pom pom detailing around the bottom gives a fun twist.
A Fedora with an elephant band on it nough said.
The brown suede bag is a must have for me. Fringing has been one of my favourite trends throughout my teenage years. This could be due to my love for the 1920's and I remember seeing Vanessa Hudgens have a brown bag with fringing on and just feel in love with her boho style (proud high school musical obsessive here). Practicality wise it may not be the best but it would look amazing!
The kimono is simply beautiful!! Again little bit of fringing (you can't have to much right). I love the bold shades used and chose this one as it looks light/airy. A kimono is great to just throw on and feel in the festival spirit.

I obviously would choose some hair accessories and jewellery as well but didn't want to over do. Maybe I can do a separate one for small acccesories and things if anyone would like to see it.

Are any of you heading to a festival this year??

Being a Tourist

Sunday, 8 June 2014

Check out this cottage, looks so cute! It was randomly in the middle of St James Park

Outfit-
Shirt- Primark
Jeans- Topshop Joni
Bag- New Look
Shoes- H&M
*can't remember where my sunglasses are from apologies!

I've always lived just outside London, can hop on a train and I'll be within London in around 20 minutes. That's the case for both my university house and home home ha!. I've never actually done the typical tourist thing and visited sites around London.
What was so great about that day was that it was completely spontaneous!  My friend Caroline and I decided to head to Oxford Street as we wanted to pick up something to wear in case there was a party after finishing show roles. We headed to Topshop and a couple of other places but I think we lost interest pretty quickly as it was so hot and we weren't very successful. Although she did pick up a pair of Mom Jeans from H&M which are freaking amazing!
We suddenly decided to just go for a walk as it was such a beautiful day out :) I said why not go down this random street and see where we end up. We walked past many designer shops (one day I will go in and buy something). She took me to the Buckingham Palace which was amazing to see in person, Her  majesty was in as the flag was up haha. We then walked through the most beautiful park ever (St James' Park) I could have stayed there for ages!. Then we walked on the Embankment and got some insanely good ice cream and managed to end up back at the South Bank what are the odds!

I completely mucked up with my outfit choice, jeans was such a bad mistake for a  hot day. However the shirt was a dream as it always caught the breeze! I bought the shirt from Primark last year for Reading Festival and  just love it! Comfy shoes were a must too and my H&M trainer shoes didn't let me down

I've seen new areas of London lately and I'm loving it. There's so much more of it too explore! Maybe I should write a list or something

Hope your having a nice chilled Sunday

One of the best breakfasts i've ever had!

Saturday, 29 March 2014

So recently I went to Nottingham for a couple of days to visit two friends at uni! I've only ever been there when I had an interview for uni there but never really got to explore the city. It's such a different vibe there compared to London so I really enjoyed seeing where my friend was now living a new life :)
We did some shopping (even though I have no money) more like window shopping and explored.
I was so busy catching up with my mate I didn't actually take a lot of photo's. Also silly me forgot my camera lead at uni fun times! *nice one Katie*

On the first night I got there we went for dinner at Frankie & Benny's, had this amazing garlic bread thing ( I could live on it for the rest of my life). We then decided to go to the cinema there. We saw a film called About Last Night. When it started I was like I have picked the shittest film here but it got a lot better. Plus one if the trailers shown was the new Zac Efron film coming out in May (need him in my life :P)
Discovered the joys of pick & mix and there were skull sweets, I of course picked up a few. My mind was blown haha. It's a rip off though hence why this is the first time I got it in years!

The next morning we went out for breakfast which I never do. Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day and is always a time I enjoy. We went to an American themed diner and I just had to get pancakes. Look at that beauty!! I wanted fruit as well as my eating habits lately  have become bad! It was so good that I felt a sense of sadness when I had finished it haha!

Then that night we went out clubbing. I don't go out at uni as there isn't anywhere to go and I never have time. I drank way too much which I didn't want to do, no idea how it happened. I don't think alcohol and I are friends right now aha

Just wish I took more photos, both the ones above are from my Instagram: @katielmales :)

Thanks for reading
