Reading Festival 2015

Monday, 31 August 2015

So I've had 4 hours sleep but I now have a severe case of post Reading blues. This was my third time going to Reading for the entire weekend and it was fucking amazing (sorry but the swear word was necessary). Even with the enormous amount of mud and the hell known as the toilets it was honestly a weekend I'll never forget. I just love seeing music live, it's a feeling you just can't beat. I don't know whether anyone is interested but here are the bands and acts I managed to catch:

Friday
Mariachi and the Bronx, Hunter & the Bear, Panic at the Disco, Don Broco, All Time Low, Bastille, Limp Bizkit, Mumford & Sons

Saturday
Nothing But Thieves, Marmozets, Modestep, As It Is, And So I Watch You From Afar, Royal Blood, Everything Everything, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Twin Atlantic, Metallica

Sunday
Black Foxxes, Fort Hope, Ghostpoet, Mooseblood, Mini Mansions, Jack Garrat, Coasts, We Are the Ocean, Manchester Orchestra, Kendrick Lemar, Little Comets, Frank Turner, Refused

So quite a mixture of bands seen and that's what makes Reading so amazing. You can go from seeing a heavy metal band in one tent to a dance act in the next it's celebrates such an eclectic mix which I fully appreciate. Highlights for me, by far Royal Blood were the best act, what an incredible atmosphere. I really didn't want their set to end. Also probably a little bias as they are one of my favourite bands but Twin Atlantic were on point!! Frank Turner was also incredible to see especially acoustic. I'm also chuffed I can finally say I've seen Refused and Limp Bizkit. Discovering new bands is always the best part, Mooseblood I really enjoyed seeing.
In terms of headliners both acts I saw were incredible. Mumford and Sons are my best friend Charlotte's favourite band so it made me think of her. Listening to them just made me so happy. Downloading some songs now. And Metallica well they're Metallica enough said. The set seemed to last an eternity though my feet were giving up half way through and I didn't catch all of them. I didn't see the Libertines as I'm not really bothered about their music but I've heard they were amazing too.

A weekend of music, mud, cider, dancing, singing, glitter and floral crowns galore, what a treat. I now can't wait for the next time I go even though I felt extremely old there and I'm only 21!!

Now we're entering the summer, weekends can be filled with more outdoor activities. Being the music lover that I am my perfect plan for a summer weekend is going to a festival. It shouldn't be that much of a surprise to you.

Fat Face have launched a new range Take Me to the Weekend that feature clothing that make every weekend an adventure whatever your plans are. And life should be full of adventures right?? I was asked to come up with an outfit/outfits that I would wear to a festival. I am going to Reading festival for the third time thankfully, last year I didn't go and I was so upset. I should probably venture to a different festival at some point in my life.

My plans for Reading are pretty simple:
Set up camp with my mates, have a few ciders, go to the main arena as soon as each day, watch a variety of bands and appreciate the diverse range of music on offer. Oh and look round the stalls there cause the shopper in me needs to have a bit of time to shine. But mainly make some new memories.

When I'm at a festival I get fully involved with the music I'm seeing so I tend to dance quite a bit, put my hands in the air you know the usual thing... So I'm all about comfort. In my head I have these amazing elaborate outfits planned, but in reality I keep it simple. I love denim so when I saw these dungaree's I knew I wanted to give them a try. Maybe they aren't the most practical thing to wear to a festival but I think they are too cute to leave behind. I paired them with a Guns N Roses t-shirt as it's me so a band tee would be involved in some way. Converse are the ultimate comfort shoe, I would probably wear some wellies as well but currently don't own any. The kimono I thought added a laid back vibe along with sunglasses. These are my favourite pair of sunnies I own, I live in them. A festival in England means that rain is inevitable at some point, the weather is just too unpredictable. That's where my main love of this outfit comes into play. I am obsessed with this yellow rain coat from Fat Face. Yellow is a colour I don't wear too often but I just love it, lightweight, waterproof, fun it just ticks all of the boxes.

Festival fashion is by far my favourite and I feel like Fat Face have come up with some great essential pieces. Check out the Take Me to the Weekend range here.
Or of course you can check all of their women's wear here.

Festival Wishlist

So as everyone knows festival season is well under way. Around now is the time I'm usually getting excited about heading to Reading festival. But unfortunately due to lack of funds I'm not going and honestly feel like I am going to go into a state of depression. Next year I'll be there again!! Anyways I love love love festival fashion!! I wish I could pull off half the trends I see. Above are pieces that I would love to buy if I was going to a festival this year. They are all from the wonderful Asos which is my favourite online store.
I picked the embroided black skater dress as it's quite simple, looks extremely comfortable and has hints of colour in it. I personally really enjoy wearing a dress as there really easy to chuck on and look nice without actually putting any effort in.
The black cut out boots are simple to wear and the heel is pretty small so should fingers crossed be comfy. Plus they will go with all outfits.
The denim shorts are a classic! They are high waisted and a mom style so slightly loose fitting. There a decent length. I literally hate the whole trend of girls wearing shorts that show off their bums! I had a competition with my mates last year at Reading counting how many girls bums you could see, got well into the double figures haha.
The Good Vibes T-shirt I adore (and apparently everyone else does as it's nearly sold out). I love items of clothing that express positivity. I'm naturally a pessimistic person but at a festival I always feel so happy and care free. I feel like it's an appropriate shirt for me and just reminds everyone to have a great time whilst seeing live music! Plus the cute pom pom detailing around the bottom gives a fun twist.
A Fedora with an elephant band on it nough said.
The brown suede bag is a must have for me. Fringing has been one of my favourite trends throughout my teenage years. This could be due to my love for the 1920's and I remember seeing Vanessa Hudgens have a brown bag with fringing on and just feel in love with her boho style (proud high school musical obsessive here). Practicality wise it may not be the best but it would look amazing!
The kimono is simply beautiful!! Again little bit of fringing (you can't have to much right). I love the bold shades used and chose this one as it looks light/airy. A kimono is great to just throw on and feel in the festival spirit.

I obviously would choose some hair accessories and jewellery as well but didn't want to over do. Maybe I can do a separate one for small acccesories and things if anyone would like to see it.

Are any of you heading to a festival this year??

Daisies Galore

Sunday, 3 August 2014

This summer it's been all about daisy prints and anything that has a daisy on it. Not only clothes but with fragrance as well :) I thought I'd picture some of the items I own that I've been loving.
The first is a clutch bag from New Look that my friend kindly got for me for my birthday whilst on a shopping trip. I've used this a few times now and I love it. There's plenty of room for the essentials for a night out such as phone, lippy etc. I love the 3D detailing of the daisies.
Awwww Daisy by Marc Jacobs how I love you!! This is hands down my favourite perfume I've ever owned. At first I only wanted to save it for special occasions but it's quickly escalated into me wearing it everyday. I think it's the perfect balance between being strongly scented  but not to overpowering. I've now got my eye on the Dream scent and I really want to get my hands on it :) Probably doesn't help me watching all the Dream tag video's all over YouTube.
The daisy chain head garland I got at Reading Festival last year. I always feel like I need a floral crown esque item. I loved this one as it was simple and not to in your face. I'm now going into a state of depression as I'm not attending Reading this year :'( I feel like it's a prominent part of my year now aha.

Anyone else loving Daisies right now??
