A fashion themed post, I know what is happening. It's been a long time since I've posted any outfit posts as well let's face it the self confidence has been real low lately. But I just had to share this jumper I bought a little while a go as I'm a little bit obsessed.

Rainbow seems to be a real trend at the moment and I love it. I've been really inspired by bloggers lately and seen so many bright coloured pieces. I usually hide behind black and white outfits, but I think it's time to have a little more fun. My style has become quite boring lately so I'm trying to bring back the buzz I used to have when creating outfits. I hope soon I will be able to outfit posts outside... maybe...one day.

Originally I wanted to buy a glittery striped jumper from Warehouse, but like everything I have my eye on it sold out so quickly! But i found this little bright number from Asos. I pair this jumper usually with black jeans so the focus is entirely on this piece, but I think it would look great with a blue denim skirt as well. It's a great jumper to wear when you're having a bad day as it just instantly boosts your mood, and i need that as I'm always feeling the blues at the start of the year!

I love getting dressed up for events. Unfortunately I don't go to many events where it's acceptable to get heavily dolled up in a nice dress and fancy heels. But in the rare occasions when I do I think the process of choosing a nice dress and putting it on is so exciting. I focused on looking at evening dresses as I was thinking about outfits I would have loved to have worn at my prom or my university summer ball that happens at the end of each academic year (only got one more left). I love long flowing dresses so they were the style I went for. Above are some of the dresses I personally love. There were such a huge selection to choose from I chose these two as I think they are really classic, elegant styles. I don't like to show off too much skin, but I think the fact that they show off the figure makes them quite sexy in a non obvious way (especially the black number). And for £69.99 it's just amazing!

Something I really appreciate being a costume making student is that you have the option to order a dress tailored to your specific measurements. Learning how to fit garments to people, I think this is such a great idea as you want the dress to flatter your shape and the perfect fit makes you not only feel comfortable but definitely makes the dress look so much better.

The Lazy Day Dress

 

 

Lately I've been having a few 'lazy days', lazy being used in the terms of getting ready and looking presentable haha. I've been spending days just chilling  at home doing some sewing and starting to determine what I need to take back to uni for my final year (scary stuff!). Usually when I have a lazy day I tend to chuck on a pair of trackies/ sweatpants and one of my comfiest t-shirts. However recently I have loved wearing this grid patterned smock dress I picked up from Topshop a few months back. I'm a bit sceptical about smock dresses on my body as I am naturally broad so feel like they aren't the most flattering of dresses on me. However I think this one isn't to bad! It comes up huge as this dress is a size 10, I would normally wear a 14/16 but that size swamped me when I tried it on. It's such a light dress and is super comfy. I love the combination of the lilac shades of purple and grey together. I can't resist a bit of purple as you know! I never thought I would wear dresses on days where I'm not doing anything but it appears I rather enjoy it.

 

In terms of hair and make up I literally am so lazy! If I'm not going out then I choose to not really put make up. I may put a little bit of mascara but lately I haven't even been doing that. I love make up but I think it's important to let my skin breathe from time to time. Most of the time I am comfortable with venturing into public without make up on even if I look like I'm ill (obviously there are days where I don't want to). My hair I usually just brush and leave. I washed my hair last night and just left it to air dry. It's naturally curly like this and I'm kind of digging it lately. I've got into a routine of applying some hair products that I think are really helping maintain the health and curly nature of my hair whilst I attempt to grow it longer.

 

I need to get out of these lazy days as I got back to uni in what a couple of weeks now! I'm not ready for third year at all!!
