My favourite thing about easter

Friday, 18 April 2014

It's officially Easter weekend :) everyone is off work today and I guess it's a time to spend with family. For me personally Easter doesn't have any meaning as I'm not religious. It is however a chance for people to indulge in chocolate.

I started off the day well as I went to the gym this morning, it was too busy :( aha. I came back after a really good workout and my mum decides we should make cakes, oh dear.

These chocolate nest cakes are incredible! so simple to make and so tasty. All you have to do is melt chocolate, butter and golden syrup in a bowl over hot water. Then crumble some shredded wheat in another bowl. Add the melted mixture to the shredded wheat and mix so all the shredded wheat is covered. Then spoon into cake cases and add some Cadbury's mini eggs on the top. And your done!

Mini eggs are my favourite chocolate and I indulge in them a bit too much!

For the quantities of ingredients I'm sure there are many recipes online

What's everyone up to this easter??

'Picnic Blanket' Dress

Sunday, 13 April 2014

Hello :) Quite a bit has happened since I last posted on here. So I'm back at uni my Easter holidays went too quick although I'm having a bit of time off lately. It was my birthday Tuesday so I'm now officially 20, mental! I don't feel any older although many people have assured me I'm old now. I got a tailors dummy so now I can hopefully create some beautiful costumes and model them on a stand woohoo :)

Anyways it's a beautiful day today so I just threw on this check print smock dress I got from Asos at Christmas. Both my dad and brother have now referred to it as a picnic blanket (they're so charming) so that's kinda my nickname for it now. I was a bit worried about wearing a smock dress as they may make me look bigger which is something I don't want. This one isn't too bad and its comfy.

Shocked at how pale my legs are, I need some sun, so wish I was going on holiday this summer :'(

Hope you've had a lovely weekend

One of the best breakfasts i've ever had!

Saturday, 29 March 2014

So recently I went to Nottingham for a couple of days to visit two friends at uni! I've only ever been there when I had an interview for uni there but never really got to explore the city. It's such a different vibe there compared to London so I really enjoyed seeing where my friend was now living a new life :)
We did some shopping (even though I have no money) more like window shopping and explored.
I was so busy catching up with my mate I didn't actually take a lot of photo's. Also silly me forgot my camera lead at uni fun times! *nice one Katie*

On the first night I got there we went for dinner at Frankie & Benny's, had this amazing garlic bread thing ( I could live on it for the rest of my life). We then decided to go to the cinema there. We saw a film called About Last Night. When it started I was like I have picked the shittest film here but it got a lot better. Plus one if the trailers shown was the new Zac Efron film coming out in May (need him in my life :P)
Discovered the joys of pick & mix and there were skull sweets, I of course picked up a few. My mind was blown haha. It's a rip off though hence why this is the first time I got it in years!

The next morning we went out for breakfast which I never do. Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day and is always a time I enjoy. We went to an American themed diner and I just had to get pancakes. Look at that beauty!! I wanted fruit as well as my eating habits lately  have become bad! It was so good that I felt a sense of sadness when I had finished it haha!

Then that night we went out clubbing. I don't go out at uni as there isn't anywhere to go and I never have time. I drank way too much which I didn't want to do, no idea how it happened. I don't think alcohol and I are friends right now aha

Just wish I took more photos, both the ones above are from my Instagram: @katielmales :)

Buying Make up off ebay.. trustworthy??

Saturday, 22 March 2014

Yes.... I'm still alive haha :') apologies lack of posts. I've had such a hectic time lately that I've hardly had time to look on the internet never mind write a post. I've now officially finished my first show role! It was a lot of fun and I learnt a lot from the experience, particularly about people. I won't go into that though haha! I can't describe the feeling of seeing a costume you've made be worn on stage. It made me soo happy!
I'm now back home for a couple of weeks for my 'Easter break'. Easter isn't for ages and my mates aren't back from uni till near the time I head back (how does that work)
Anyways so I really want to get my hands on the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, it's so pretty!! I've found some on ebay as I can't really afford £37 :(. Has anyone got high end make up off ebay?? can it be trusted??

I'm hoping I can get it soon or maybe treat myself after my birthday which is in a couple of weeks. Literally haven't thought about it till my parents asked me what I wanted yesterday. I'm gonna be 20 eurgh haha

Hope your all having a lovely weekend :)

'Leather' skirt meets casual

Tuesday, 4 March 2014

A leather (not real leather guess more pleather really) skirt is something I've wanted to pick up for ages! I just haven't got round to it... until now! I picked this one up from H&M the other week whilst in Westfield and I love it! I originally bought it for a night out visiting a friend at uni in Northampton but that didn't end up happening. I thought how could I make it work in a casual way.
So I paired it up with this cobalt blue jumper from Primarni (my way of saying Primark), it's my favourite jumper I own , loves the colour! The blue with the orange on my Topshop bargain necklace works so well! The necklace was on sale and I was inspired by Lily Melrose yet again after seeing her where it on a blog post. Plus it has skulls on it, it's just perfection. The shoes I chose were my studded slightly heeled boots from H&M that  also got in the sale. Don't wear them too often but I love them!
So yeah this is what I came up with!
Just got back from uni and had what we call a dress parade for the show I'm about to start. I was so nervous but it was soo much fun! It was the first time we got to interact with the cast and all of the actors working on our show are lovely which is a plus :) We go into the theatre next week scary times!!
Anyways I'm gonna go and watch some episodes of Gossip Girl (potentially favourite tv show ever along with Ugly Betty)

Ill in bed and what do I do?? I watch wrestling typical...

Wednesday, 26 February 2014

Today hasn't been great :/ I've been really ill the last couple of days. I've gone into uni and tried to work but have made zero progress and panicking majorly as my make deadline is Friday :(. Today my body just gave up on me and I took the day off. Hoping that by literally spending the day in bed I can recover and then tomorrow I'll feel fresher and have a better day.

Spending the day in bed I've been watching various things on TV. Gossip Girl mainly as it is my latest obsession I love that show soo much!! Wished I watched it when it aired but c'est la vie.

I also re watched a documentary that I discovered a while back about wrestling. I know wrestling isn't everyone's cup of tea but I just wouldn't be me if I didn't have I guess a love for it. The whole art of it and the stories created through it I find really intriguing. I've grown up watching it on TV and also seen some shows in my time.

It's called The Wrestlers- Fighting with my family. Think it was aired a few years ago. I never actually watched it on TV as my parents don't have a care for it. However I remember reading about it in a magazine and the daughter in it is now Paige in WWE so that to me is very exciting. It follows the Knight Family- famous in the British wrestling scene and how there lives change when one of them moves to the biggest company in the business.

If anyone wants to watch it this is the link:
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=76b_1348807370

I just wanted to blog about it as I find it interesting to watch. Even if your not a fan you get a glimpse of what the world of wrestling is like.

Wanting a spring wardrobe

Monday, 24 February 2014

Today there was a hint of spring as there was actually sunshine out today in England. Of course on a beautiful day I am stuck in bed as I'm so ill today its ridiculous. I don't know whats wrong with me, but my head feels all mushy and my nose is so blocked (tmi ..) Currently lying in bed watching Gossip Girl (favourite programme ever, so late watching it but I love it!!).
I'm usually not a fan of spring, but this year I cannot wait for spring and summer as the weather has been rain constantly for the last couple of months. Pastel colours have been  a love of mine the last couple of years and as much as I've been trying to resist looking at things online there are some gorgeous pieces I really want to get my hands on!!

1. Hether Textured Tailored Boyfriend Coat In Baby Blue- £54.99
I'm loving the whole pastel coat trend right now. I've seen loads of pink coats around but I personally have fallen in love with pale blue. I saw Emma Willis present Big Brother in a blue coat from Zara and have wanted one ever since. Unfortunately this has sold out in my size :( hopefully they restock as I would love to have it in my life and inject colour into my wardrobe

2. Cameo Rose Green Short Sleeve Spot Print Boxy Shirt (New Look)- £14.99
Can't go wrong with a bit of polka dot and with this beautiful shade of green added its a winner for me! I love a shirt too providing that it's comfy and this looks like I'll be able to breathe whilst wearing it
3. Gold tone rainbow stone necklace- £6.00
Browsing through the River Island website and came across this. I love colours and I think this necklace is simple et really pretty. It would add colour to the monochrome box I seem to be trapped in at the moment

4. Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette- £37.00
Aww like you don't know about this?? If you follow the beauty blogging world then I'm pretty sure you'll know this. I don't own any of the Naked palette's. What I particularly like about this one is that all of the shades have tones of pink. I've watched so many tutorials focusing on pink eye shadow looks for spring that I would just love to experiment with this

5. Berte Cropped Knitted Jumper In Lilac- £16.99
A bit of spring themed knitwear?? yes please!! Purple is my favourite colour and this pretty shade of lilac would be the perfect way to add a bit of warmth and femininity to an outfit. I think it'd be soo cute paired with a white shirt underneath. Could even toughen it up with  some leather. Must. stop. pairing. outfits.

So this is just  a selection of the things I am loving at the moment
