Make Up Wishlist #1

Sunday, 19 February 2017

So I thought I'd share some make up I really want to get my hands on. Again I'm in the mood to spend money... whats new there then. Lately I've been wanting to purchase a lot of make up. I blame watching a few too many YouTube videos and tutorials so it instigates me to want more things. Plus I've been so lazy and done the same look forever I need some new items to play with!

Two items in particular I have wanted for ages!! The first being the Morphe Fall Into The Frost palette, look how pretty those colours are. There quite Autumnal shades so I think that's what I like about it, I just want it to be October again. The second being the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eye Shadow, oh my god they look so beautiful. I'm really wanting the shade Rose Gold Retro. Pure sparkly goodness. Had to chuck in a bit of Charlotte Tilbury as I just love her and the brand, would love her to do my make up one day but a girl can dream.

Have to say I'm quite happy with how this collage turned out, I did a lot of playing around on Photoshop and I kinda love how it turned out. Also I'm off on holiday tomorrow for a week to Lanzarote. I cannot wait to have a break and hopefully get some sun.

Yeah I'll stop rambling on now.

Skincare Loves for January

Tuesday, 7 February 2017

In all aspects of my life lately I have become lazy and skincare is no exception. I'm one of those people that quickly washes my face in the morning but that's it. I know its terrible right. So I thought it was about time that I tested out some new things and see how they turn out. So here are a skincare few items I loved using during January.

Biore Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips
It was actually my boyfriend that originally wanted to try these out. I love these purely because you can see the amount of crap they have taken out of your pores when you take it off. I won't lie it hurts loads peeling these off your nose, tip just get it over and done with quickly. But yeah they are a simple strip to use on your nose and I now definitely notice my pores a lot more.

Institut Esthederm Osmoclean Hydra-Replenshing Cleansing Milk
This cleansing milk is so so good. It has become my daily cleanser and by far my most used skincare item. The reason why I love this is because the texture of it is so smooth and feels really calming on my face. I got this particular product as I read its good for sensitive skin and my skin gets really red especially during the winter months. I literally love it.

Mario Badescu Almond and Honey Face Scrub

This face scrub is so satisfying to use. I tend to go for products that exfoliate because I have really dry skin particularly between my eyebrows. This scrub again is really soothing on the skin and it smells like bakewell tart which I'm not opposed to. There are quite big bits of almond so they can be really rubbed into the skin.

L'Oreal Pure Clay Glow Mask
I believe these are relatively new out but I was really intrigued by the advert I saw on the TV. I bought the brightens and exfoliates version which is a red colour. I've only used this a couple of times but so far so good. I was afraid the colour was going to stain my skin but pleased to say I didn't end orange. Again there are small bits to help exfoliate. Its good because the clay firms up on the face and washes off easily. It has made my skin feel really soft, so far so good!

If anyone has any skin care recommendations leave them in a comment, you know me I'm always on the hunt to try out new products.

Hello 2017...

Thursday, 12 January 2017

Well first off Happy New Year, so so late I know. I hope everyone had a great evening indulging in a few drinks and dancing the night away (or if you're me having a glass of prosecco and then going to bed as you had work the next morning boo!). Now I won't lie New Years is my least favourite time of the year, probably because I love the build up to Christmas and now its over. I'm not a huge fan of New Years Resolutions but it is a time when you reflect on what you want to achieve so I thought  would write some new goals. Also I've been stuck in bed with the flu over the last few days so it's been a cracking start to the year already...

1. Find my passion for things again
Over the last few months I've kinda lost my way in life in general. I've had a lot of days where I haven't even wanted to get out of my bed and I've never experienced that before. I just have had no desire to do anything (well apart from cuddle with my boyfriend all of the time, cringe!) but it's time to focus on changing that. I guess being stuck in a job that lets face it depresses me and not being able to find work in costume making has got me down. But I've managed to bag a little paid internship so that is a start. And in terms of costume making I'm just going to make stuff for fun, I miss sewing and creating so much!

2. Post on this damn blog
The amount of posts on here has dwindled and the reason for it... I honestly couldn't tell you why. I think part of the reason is not being happy within myself. I need to gain more self love in order to do more posts I want to like outfit posts. But I'm gonna write a bunch of ideas and I'll hopefully get back to posting lots soon.

3.Travel more
Last year I got to go on two holidays which is insane. For most people they'd be like why is that exciting but I hadn't been away in years and really did appreciate the breaks away. After visiting Venice with my boyfriend Ben and experiencing a whole new culture we are dieing to go travelling. There are so many places we want to travel to and we are heading on a little holiday soon to Lanzarote which I am very excited about!

4. Make Healthier choices
I've written it many times on here... I lost weight I've gained it all again so hating myself big time right now. I guess food is unfortunately a comfort for me and I like eating. So I would like to exercise and find a way to enjoy it again and get a buzz from it. But mainly discover what healthy eating is again. Seriously before I went to university I was so healthy and my willpower was on point, now I'm terrible and always wanting chocolate... help!

5. Reach out more to friends
I've lost contact and been terrible at seeing my friends recently so I'd really like to make more of an effort. I've been slowly introducing my boyfriend into my friendship group which is exciting as I never thought I would have the opportunity to do that. But yeah I need to have more chats and I miss a lot of people.

Well lets see what 2017 has to offer then shall we...

The Essential Eye Brush Set by Studio 5 Cosmetics

Tuesday, 8 November 2016

Firstly I realise I've been really bad at posting lately, I'm having a lack of self confidence at the moment so haven't felt like writing so yeah. One day I want to feel happy enough to do outfit posts again.
Recently I have rediscovered my love for doing my makeup coming out of what feels like the longest lazy slump. I realised that I needed to add some new brushes to my collection and in particular some eye shadow brushes. You know times are bad when you're trusty H&M eye shadow brush snaps in half (shameful I know!). Most of the brushes I own are from Real Techniques but I really wanted to try out a new brand. Whilst browsing Amazon I came across the Essential Eye Brush Set by Studio 5 Cosmetics which sounded pretty decent to me. In this set you get seven 'high quality' brushes all designed to help apply eye make up. Within the set you get:

*Pencil brush
*Precision Shader
*Small angle
*Eye liner
*Shader
*Angled shader
*Perfect blending

The one brush I was really looking forward to using was the perfect blending brush as I'd never had a brush specifically for blending out eye shadow. The amount of times I've wanted to create a soft eye shadow look but not been able to do it. That brush is so fluffy and does the job of blending out colours perfectly. All of the brushes seem really high quality and none of them so far have shed all over my face which I've had happen before. Plus the bristles is 100% cruelty free so that's an added bonus. And for the price of £11.80 for the whole set you can't really go wrong.

London Calling by Kat Von D

Monday, 10 October 2016

Being from the UK I couldn't get my hands on Kat Von D makeup easily as it was always available for years in the US in Sephora. So when I found out that her make up was being launched over here in Debenhams I was so so excited! And my lovely boyfriend treated me to a limited edition set from her range called London Calling which featured the product I have been wanting to try for ages.
So in this collection you get three miniature sized products which I actually really like as they're perfect for travel and it also means you can try them out before deciding to buy the bigger version. So it features a min studded kiss lipstick in what I believe is a classic shade from her collection called Lolita, a mini everlasting liquid lipstick (which I've heard many good things about) in the shade Double Dare and the product I'm most excited about a mini waterproof tattoo eyeliner in Trooper.

I am absolutely loving the eyeliner so I now see why everyone raves about it. The felt tip applicator makes it so easy to use and draw a smooth line something I find really tricky to do. I've also heard it makes doing winged eyeliner really easy so we'll see if that works with clumsy old me. But what I'm most impressed with is that the colour stays on my lid throughout the whole day. Most of the time the black liquid eyeliners I use fade a lot through the day which is a tad annoying. But this one remains all day. I also love the pigment of the lipsticks particularly the everlasting liquid one. It just glides on, the colours are a little darker then what I usually wear but I guess Autumn is the perfect time to experiment with darker lip shades.

Question is what do I buy next from the range...

Venice 2016

Friday, 30 September 2016

For years I've been jealous of reading about what felt like everyone in the world going on holiday except me. I've been to a few places but there are those places where you've dreamt of going to and I have a pretty long list. But one place in particular I've wanted to go for years is Venice in Italy, and well a couple of weeks ago that dream came true. It's taken me ages to edit the photos so apologies this is a little late.
The whole holiday itself was a bit of a dream as I went on holiday with my boyfriend Ben which also is something I thought I would never say. And Venice is an extremely romantic place so it was a rather lovely place to go to on our first holiday together. And plus I loved being able to spend a few days together just the two of us as work makes it tricky to see each other a lot of the time.

The Infinity Suit by T.M. Lewin

Wednesday, 24 August 2016

It always exciting when a company launch a new product. Last Friday T.M. Lewin launched their new infinity suit which looks and sounds incredible. This new suit is specifically designed to look sharp throughout the day whether you're having a busy day at work and running errands. With its new crease resistant technology this suit leaves you looking good all day long. The suit also contains an open weave allowing water to be absorbed easily. This means you feel comfortable and cool whilst looking well put together.
The model Chase Armitage is a free runner and has directed multiple productions. As you can see from the photos the tricks he performs are high risk and very physical. Its the perfect way to showcase that the infinity suit can withstand anything. So walking around the office or catching the train is nothing.

If you know anyone on the hunt for a new suit then the Infinity suit seems like the perfect option for a man's wardrobe.
