My Week- A bit of indulgence

Sunday 30 November 2014

Happy Sunday everyone! We've come to the end of November how crazy. That means Christmas is fast approaching. I felt like I wanted to do a bit of a catch up post. On majority my weeks been pretty decent. So I thought I'd share some photo's I've taken.
I obviously shared what I did Monday in a previous post so check that out here (nice plug Katie :P). I've been settling back into my uni routine, so not much work has been done.
We had to swap rooms (so annoying) so we decided to get into the Christmas mood early. My friend Amber bought in a Christmas tree along with some rather fetching/tacky Christmas decorations I love them!. I just had to get involved and decorate it. Oh and our angel on top is a doll of Marvin from JLS dressed up. I don't know how but he's become our class mascot. It's also had approval from the man himself. I basically tweeted it and he replied, life made haha.
I liked an outfit I wore this week so of course excuse to Instagram it. I'm loving pairing band t-shirts with smart trousers lately. It's a duo that are so opposite to each other that it works really well in my opinion. My t-shirt of course is the Ramones. I collect them and this is of course the classic design.
Friday was so much fun! I went on a road trip out of Sidcup to Slough to visit my friend's house and pick up the Playmobil she's selling. Her house is so quirky. We went to a pub called the Pineapple which was adorable. And the food oh my. You can't beat a bit of pub grub. They specialise in sandwiches, there were so many to choose from. I went for a Christmas dinner baguette with chips, heaven. They then took me to IKEA for the first time ever. It is amazing!! I now want to move out and buy my own flat.
Yesterday was a tough day at work. Working in Primark with lots of people off sick near Christmas is bloody hard but I got through it. Hence why the wine and cheesecake was needed. I watched the end of Survivor Series (wrestling aha) and then literally conked out. Today I took a walk down the high street but mainly has consisted of me watching the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special sitting in bed seeing if there are any more Black Friday deals I can use for presents. This whole Black Friday thing is mental, shopping should never get violent!

For once I've had a pretty exciting week haha. Hope your all having a nice lazy day!

Back to basics

Friday 28 November 2014

I feel like I haven't done an outfit post in so long!! At the moment all I want to wear is basics and I'm in a jeans mood. I've worn a pair of jeans I think every day this week. They are always an investment to me as I live in them. I am more of a trousers kind of girl. This pair of jeans are the Topshop Leigh jeans in a light wash. However I have come to the conclusion that this particular pair are not flattering on me at all. I feel like the wash of them and the shade just isn't right for me personally. Undeniably they are amazing quality and are super comfy. I need to get myself another pair of Topshop jeans. I'm thinking a black pair of Jamie jeans... hmmm. I went for a black jumper I bought from H&M originally to wear backstage for shows at uni but it's kind of become a favourite item in my wardrobe. Bad hair day = fedora. I have literally fallen in love with wearing hats over the last few months. My black loafers from New Look are my favourite pair of shoes currently I wear them everywhere whether it'd be going to uni, working in Primark or going into London. They are so comfy (very rare for me to say that about shoes). I added my purple coat from Asda for warmth but also a bit of colour. Plus the fur (faux obvs) collar and the fedora together, I think adds a bit of glam. Or I may look like an idiot.
One day I will venture outside to do some outfit shots. I apologise for the state of my room, I need to clean but I'm a student so that's my excuse haha. I am so poor right now it's not even funny. I have two weeks left of uni, got to go Christmas shopping, going for a uni course Christmas meal next week and the week after I have a gig. Yeah interesting to see how this goes.

A place I love to visit

Monday 24 November 2014

Hello, yeah I'm still here. So work experience has finished and I'm back at uni, well technically I'm back tomorrow as I took today off. Today my parents kindly offered to drive me back to Kent and took me to one of my favourite places to visit around Christmas time. Crews Hill is in Enfield which I believe is on the outskirts of London. Don't take my word for it as Geography isn't my strongest subject haha!. It's basically a road full of garden centres and cute little shops There is one garden centre in particular that goes all out for Christmas and I absolutely love visiting their. It's totally got me in the Christmas spirit. I tried to take as many pictures as I could but I think they're a bit funny about photos being taken. There are so many decorations, lights (my favourite), cute little light up moving villages and gift sets. There were also lots of  festive themed food selections like biscuits, sweet, chocolates your spoilt for choice. I had to pick up some little gifts for friends as it's rude not too. Yeah real reindeers too, they go for it big time haha. We ended spending quite a large amount of money which almost caused my dad to faint :P.
We then took a walk and ended up visiting a little food stall we always end up going to. I ended up getting a lovely hot chocolate and my mum had a craving for a cheeseburger so we all had them. Yeah real healthy.

I think there are just some places that generally make you happy when you visit them and Crews Hill is definitely one of them for me. I've loved living at home and spending time with my parents. Guess I now have to get back into the swing of things at uni boo. I loved my work placement and I'm gutted its ended. I can't even tell you how nervous I was before I started but I'm really chuffed that I managed to do it and enjoyed it so much.

I have had perhaps the best week I've had in a very long time and I don't want it to end any time soon.

ASOS Maxi Skirt In Mono Floral Print £30

ASOS Cropped Boyfriend T-Shirt with Roll Sleeve in Stripe £10

ASOS Grey Marl Braid Felt Fedora Hat £20

ASOS Leather Look Leggings £18

I've done this in the past so I figured I would do it again.  And again I do want to apologise for the lack of posts lately. My brain physically cannot function while I do work experience and working on Saturdays as well, hence why the originality of posts has been pretty poor. Anyways no more moaning Katie. My love for Asos is at a very high level currently. They do such beautiful things!! My saved items section is getting ridiculous, I want to order so much stuff but I just can't bring myself to do it as it is near Christmas now. Does anyone else think the adverts have started way too early this year?? I think I will end up making a cheeky order in the next week or so.
Anyways here are my picks from Asos at the moment. I'm having a major urge to buy tops at the moment both smart and casual. I've wanted a black jumper for ages and really want to get my hands on this chunky jumper. Also how lovely are those heels!!  saw Susie from Hello October vlog them ages ago (yes I mention her all the time, she is definitely one of my favourites haha). I really want them in my life! I feel like as I've now embraced hats another colour would be something that my wardrobe would welcome with open arms, oh hello grey fedora. The leather leggings are something I've been wanting to rock for ages, I don't actually own any pairs of leggings which is so bizarre. I can't find any that aren't see through and that don't fall down. Is that too much too ask haha.
Trust me there are so many more things I want but these are my favourites currently. Items are linked in the picture captions.

Travel Bag

Sunday 16 November 2014

As I'm currently living back home due to being on work placement I only could bring a select number of products back with me. I'm definitely the worst person in the world when it comes to packing. The word essential doesn't seem to register with me. However in terms of products for my hair and face I reckon I've done pretty well, so I thought I would share them with you.
First off can we just appreciate my adorable wash bag from Primark. It has Macaroons all over it!! I even love the colour scheme used. I saw Becca Rose feature it in Primark haul ages ago and knew it had to be mine. It's really roomy so I can over pack to my hearts content. As I wanted to bring some jewellery back I figured I would use this little fabric bag I received when I placed an order with Empty Casket. Its so handy and the fabric has little moons and stars printed all over it. For my hair I stuck to the products I actually use. Since actually using things on my hair when washing and styling it I've noticed a huge difference. Plus I'm still on my journey to growing longer hair. Heat Defence and mousse are must haves in my hair routine now and I have both of them from VO5. I also use a curl calming crème from Frizz Ease as it does help to tame the frizz. And of course dry shampoo don't think I need to say anything else. The last picture I just wanted to have a curly hair appreciation moment as I'm actually starting to embrace my curls, never ever thought the day would come. I also bought back my Garnier Micellar cleansing water to take off my make up and the Dermologica multi active toner, so refreshing!!
That's pretty much it, I've done pretty damn good at packing this time round. How sad is it that I only really pack to come home, I want a trip away somewhere!!
I am embracing a lazy Sunday, I was going to do work but have somehow found myself on Asos and binge listening to Nothing But Thieves. Off over to my brother's later for a Chinese, I guess we're celebrating as I found out I'm going to have a nephew next year I'm so excited!!

Hope your having a great Sunday

My Perfect Green Nail Varnish and a Prewarning

Wednesday 12 November 2014

I don't know why lately but I have been on the hunt for an emerald green nail varnish. It could be my excitement for Christmas building. I'm planning to start early this year. I just wanted a rich green that didn't have any sparkle. I think I've found it. It's from Collection and it's in the shade Poison Ivy. I can't ake credit for finding it as my friend has been looking for the same and found this gem. It's a beautiful rich dark green that reminds of a Christmas tree. The brush is really thick so makes it very easy to apply. Although I'm very messy when doing my nails as you can see in the first picture. It's also supposedly a lasting gel formula, its started chipping after a few days but I really really like it. For the price I would definitely recommend this shade. It's such a beautiful colour and I'm so excited to have finally found the right green.

Who would have thought I'm already speaking of Christmas. I'm so excited this year. I want to celebrate it as much as possible as I've got a feeling I'll be working majority of Christmas boo!

So I just want to pre warn that posts may be a little lacking in the next week or so. I'm currently on placement/ work experience as part of my university course. I don't think I can share too much information. But I'm working  for a huge costume company in the alterations department and I'm kind of loving it right now. Some of the productions they've worked on is far too exciting! Granted I've only done three days so far so don't want to get ahead of myself. But so far I've really enjoyed it.  The alterations I've been given are bloody challenging but I think it's doing me good. My speed as always is poor but I'd rather execute it well then give in something that's bad quality. It's tiring, I guess catching the train and rushing in the morning is taking it's toll. I'm pretty much tired all the time at the moment. Have to head back to my uni house Friday night for work on Saturday (effort).

Hope your all having a great week.

Going for a walk

Sunday 9 November 2014

I think I forget sometimes how much fun I can have just walking around. As I want to continue to explore new parts of London I decided that as I'd booked last Thursday off uni I figured that going for a walk might clear my head a bit. Plus I love the Autumn so to see some picturesque scenes and walk in the crisp air would give me some clarity. My friend Caroline and I did so much walking  that I think I can speak for both us when I say that everywhere hurt haha. I don't want to write too much as I want the pictures to do the talking, but the places we went were:

*St James' Park
*Oxford Street
*Tower of London
*Victoria
*London Bridge

In particular we explored the Christmas Shop near London Bridge station, it's not too early before anyone says anything. It made me so happy in their. I'm going back asap. The Tower of London at the moment is simply breath taking. It has poppies literally all around and gives the effect of them pouring out of it. It was a really humbling experience seeing it as I know it's unfortunately not there for long. It definitely leaves you remembering about all the brave people that lost their lives fighting for our countries future.

So glad I wore my pale blue coat from New Look. I'm living in it. There is a chill in the air now which I'm really enjoying. I know my mum would say there's something wrong with me as I enjoy the cold weather haha.
